USGI Sling for M1A! This is the one! Get it!!
This is the one!! This is the sling I was looking for! NO SLIPPAGE AT ALL! Sling is thick, gear on it is thick metal/steel/not cheap skinny bendable metal like the last one I bought. Let's put it this way, the clasp that you adjust and secure is so tight and thick I hurt my fingers sometimes trying to unlock it!! I bought 2 more for my other rifles and will buy one more (for a total of 4) once I get my bolt action. If you are looking for the Johnny Appleseed USGI Sling for the M1A/M14 this is it.

It does the job just fine
Good basic old school sling. Fits an M1A fine. It is a little stiff when it arrives but breaks in fine over time. The hardware was parkerized and fit as intended on the sling mounts. Clasp was a bear to put down when first installed but as the material "broke in" over time it has become easier to readjust. If your thinking about getting one just do it.

Pretty standard USGI style sling
Pretty standard USGI style sling. The adjustable metal buckle is made to tolerance and has the correct amount of resistance when locking down or opening up. Cotton strap does not slide, I have experienced slipping with nylon straps in the past.Sling can be used in hasty configuration or hasty-hasty if you know how to use them.- This product is pretty much identical to slings recommended by appleseed shoots.- Works as a decent 2 point sling on AR15 carbines, M1As or M1 Garands.- I tend to remove the metal clip at the bottom because it rattles too much.

M1 Garand/ M14 Rifle Sling
These are made of newer materials and tend to be a bit 'shiny' compared to the originals. If using to restore a WW2 original, you may not like that. But if using this sling for other applications, you'll love the quality construction and the genuine "G.I." feel of the hardware. My use will be on a military/ police style shotgun and the look and feel is perfect for that project. }:o)

Save your money
Sling came broke, seems cheaply made, certainly not the same quality as the one I had issued in the Marines. I was able to repair it, but shouldn't of had to.

Came in on time and works great! It is new
Came in on time and works great! It is new, so the parkerized clip on the butt-stock end is rather hard to slip on and off the swivel at first. BUT, wear it in by clipping it on and off a bunch while watching TV one night will help dramatically.I want to "become a rifleman" and really learn how to shoot well. Bought it for a bolt action Mode 70 for hunting, and it will float between that, a .22 LR Savage, and an AR once that comes someday. Then I will buy another for sure!
