OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer, Green

 This is the best kitchen gizmo I've bought in a long time. We eat a lot of avocados in my house (read: We get them by the bag at Costco). I have attached a copy of the video we took the first time I used it, which should speak for itself.

Received a FAKE OXO product. Rough, unfinished plastic edges. Rubber covering didn't have flush edges. Felt too light. Wasn't attached to the cardboard backing- just tossed into the box together. I have a REAL OXO one and bought this as a gift for someone who'd just stayed at my home and loved mine. DISAPPOINTED. I don't even know how to repurchase and get a real one because the seller I bought from is Prime approved and states it's Oxo.

This product is for you, if you even looked through these reviews to decide if you truly needed an avacodo slicer the answer is clear, your avocado obsessions clearly requires this. I will admit, you can do everything this tool does without it, you may lose a minimal amount of avacodo by using a knife instead to remove the seed and cut it open. This product is mainly for convenience sake. I will say however the convenience is uncanny, simple to use, cuts everything just how you want it, and is worth the small investment for the future of my avocado enjoyment.If you inhale avocado's at the rate of an addict then the convenience is well worth the investment :)

Avocado? Yes, Please! This tool is awesome. Easy to cut open the fruit. Pit remover works well, just push onto the pit and give it a twist, and the pit pops right out. The best part is the slicer. Makes beautiful slices for a great presentation (see attached photo of slices, ok, one side came out perfect, I kind of gummed up the other side). The tool can then be used to scrape any remaining fruit out of the skin. Really happy I bought this tool!

I wanted to love this avocado knife but there's a few things that could be improve with this product. I always have avocados at home so I was super excited about this product, speacilly the pit remover. Removing the pit for me it's always felt complicated if I scoop it with a spoon it doesn't come off clean and stabbing it with a knife can remove it cleanly but it might not be the safest. The pit remover if so easy to use and it works great, it gets the pit out clean, without a problem and safely. The knife and the slicer worked pretty good too, even though they're plastic the knife is sharp enough to cut through the avocado. My only complaint would be that I wish the knife and slicer were made out of metal, and perhaps for the knife to be just a bit longer. Other than that I think it's a great little tool.

I really like this tool! I make guacamole fairly often, which involves cutting up, slicing, and mashing of around 5 avocados. This tool makes it much faster and easier than just using a knife and spoon. You can cut, remove the core, scoop out, and slice; all with one tool. When making guacamole, it also makes it much easier to mash avocados that have already been sliced, so this tool just saves a lot of time and makes everything easier.I have 2 things that I would recommend to improve this item.1. The cutting blade needs to be slightly longer, avocados can drastically vary in size. This blade is too short for avocados on the larger end.2. Again, since avocados range in size, the slicer/scooper isn’t going to fit all avocados very precisely. I have used an avocado slicer/scooper before that had flexible sides, which allowed you to more effectively cut/scoop different size avocados. If this tool had a longer blade and flexible sides on the slicer/scooper end, it would be perfect. I give it 4 stars because there are a couple things I would like to see improved.Here’s my (secret) guac recipe:5 ripe Avocados (mashed)1 can Rotel tomatoes with chilies (completely drained) These come in mild, original, and hot; so you can control the spiciness of the guac by choosing the corresponding tomatoes with chilis.1 lime, completely juiced (pulp is good too)1 full bushel of cilantro (chopped fine). Make sure it is washed thoroughly as it seems cilantro will hold on to dirt/sand. Do you eat avocados every day like I do? Do you eat avocados a few times a week? a month?! If it's any of those options, you NEED this. When I first excitedly told my friend I bought a slicer tool specifically designed for avocados, she scoffed at me. But I kid you not, it is literally the best thing. I LOVE tools that are designed to make prep work enjoyable.I love avocados but did not love that I needed a knife, then a spoon to cut and scoop out the insides. There was also that awkward finagling of the pit. Will it come out easily this time or will it be burdensome?The slicer has an attractive green color and is easy to grip and clean. I love that while the knife end can easily slice through any avocado skin, it will not cut mine!. Removing the pit is soooo much easier now.And the avocado slicer end works too but it's not the best. It tastes some practice to get it right and if visually appealing sliced avocados is important to you, you'll love this! I personally don't need my avocados to be perfectly sliced and I find the hand-washing process in between the slicer to not be worth my time. But if you use a dishwasher, then you'll love it.For anyone else that also loves tools designed to make prep work fun, I would like to humbly introduce you to the Chef'n StemGem Strawberry Huller which I love just as much, but for strawberries, obviously.

This is the best gadget I have purchased in a long time. It does everything the description says without tearing up the delicious avocado meat. Easy to clean after use.

Expected quality of the Good Grip brand. Not as fun as expected. Wish the slicer portion was a bit wider to fit a larger avocado.

In lieu of having a sharp knif, cutting board, and spoon - this all in one lets me cut the avocado, take out the pit, and slice out (into slices) the meat.Wonderful!

Conveniently does 3 functions well. To slice, I enter the tool at the fat end of the avocado, then as I bring it towards the narrow end, I turn the tool about 80-degrees so I end...

Garbage, don’t buy

Opening an avocado has never been easier. No more fear of getting cut by the knife. The only drawback I see is the part that slices the avocado into pieces.

I bought this tool solely because I had cut my hand twice in a month trying to get the pits out of avocados I used for lunch. This tool is PHENOMENAL for that.

If you eat a lot of avocados this tool is awesome! Cleaning between the slicer takes a minute but makes nice slices.

I use this almost daily and am very impressed at how well it works and how durable it is! Will be buying a few for gifts
