FANTASTIC FOUR PROS AND CONS
Pros - The figures are great. Very articulant. You can pose the characters pretty well. Cons - H.E.R.B.I.E. was a stupid figurine that you can't do anything with/articulate and has a hard time standing up. They should've just thrown in Human Torch instead. *Note - Be careful what you buy on Amazon.com because the picture may show you differently than what you're buying. I thought I was buying the Fantastic Four with their Blue uniforms as it shows in this listing. The seller sent me them in the Variant White space suits. Was not impressed with what I was given. But because i'm a collector it's all good.

Price check
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This was the only option for a set of movie characters. Of course I’m sure there are. Others now. However, this seller claimed they had one left and it was $140.00. Now, buyer beware, I’ve seen this exact set on sale since at a fraction of the price. Structurally sound, just like other vinyl toy figures. Nothing more.

Pants on Fire
In 1977, Marvel licensed a number of characters to Universal Studios to be developed as live-action TV-movies and potential series. The Human Torch was one, and a teleplay was written but never produced. When NBC wanted to buy a new, animated Fantastic Four series, the rights to the Torch were already encumbered. Universal - which was not to be involved in the cartoon show - wouldn't make a deal that allowed the Torch. Therefore, he was replaced by a robot named H.E.R.B.I.E., conceived by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. It had NOTHING to do with kids setting themselves on fire. Besides in the 60s, there was a FF cartoon and the Human Torch was included then. There have been about 3-4 FF cartoons since then, all had the Torch. The story about kids setting themselves on fire is pure nonsense. Liar, liar, pants on fire. The toy pack now isn't half bad; the white uniforms look too gray, however. It would be cooler if Reed could stretch. They've made Sue invisible, which is great! The HERBIE robot sucks and should at least have some kind of articulation, but is pretty much worthless, unless you were a fan of the cartoon.

I was excited to find the fantastic 4 set
I was excited to find the fantastic 4 set, becoming more rare these days... However this is not a play toy. The characters fell apart. Some toys have your average limb that will snap back into place, not this... the joints are too small for the sockets.

Beware alternate versions
There was an alternate version released with them in silver uniforms. When I ordered, I wanted the blue uniforms, but got the silver version instead. Other than that, I received great service from Amazon, the product was in good condition. Was happy to see HERBIE get his due! He replaced the Human Torch on the old 80's TV show. The producers felt that kids would try to light themselves on fire.

doesn't include Johnny Storm
I had to pay and extra $30 to buy him seperately. He's a high commodity apparently. Oh well. All are happy now.

As you can see, there are only the fantastic 3 here. Thing, Reid, Sue and the little robot who is not one of the 4. Where is Johnny Storm I hear you ask? Who knows, there are 3 variation of this pack, this one, the one with non invisible sue and a space suit one, all 3 have this make up and no Johnny storm. Does this not reek of trying to get you to purchase Johnny Storm separately? I think they say he sells better on his own, but Thing is most popular figure of the 4 so.... Anyway, you'll need to do as I did, get this as both Reid and Sue Richards are incredibly hard to get in the 4" range (I got non invisible Sue one)and then separately find a Johnny storm. Not easy, there are 3 different versions of Johnny Storm. Flame off, very poor figure, I reviewed it here. Full flame Johnny, only available in 2 pack with Wolverine, better overall figure but also has one same bad issue, also reviewed on here. Partial flame on Johnny - super rare and you will get charged an arm and a leg for it. Overall the figures on offer in this pack are all very good quality and I have no issues with them at all, my son loves them and plays with them regularly

The photo clearly shows the FF in their classic blue uniforms. But that wasn't what the seller was selling, but some alternative white uniform. Won't be buying from the action station again.
