Perfect for my Mini Metal Foundry!!!
Mini Metal Foundry crucible. I bought this for Grant Thompson's 'Mini-Metal Foundry'. It fits perfect!. I have been melting holes into my stainless steel homemade crucibles and this is a serious upgrade. Note for shipping: this is not on Prime, but I ordered it Monday night and it arrived Thursday morning... fabulous! Pour spout: I have seen negative reviews about the dimple for pouring, or lack there of... mine came with a perfect pouring dimple in it... check out my pics. Size: I did not use the expensive plastic containers Grant had listed to build the interior of the foundry. I bought similar sized ones from the dollar store... WIN!!! Same with the containers to form the lid. You just have to understand the basic principle of how much space you need and then purchase a container that will suffice. I even found the stainless steel dish scrubbers (for added structural integrity... you need it) at the Dollar store. All that to say, I have just a hair more space on the inside of my foundry than Grant does, therefore, this crucible fits perfectly and I can get charcoal all around it. I'm not sure how tight it would be If I had bought the expensive blue buckets he had listed. I also purchased a little container from the Dollar store to act as the feeding hole in the lid... saves the time of having to cut one with the hole saw, and it's a lot less messy... check out my pics. If you have any questions, give me a shout, I have built 2 of these guys and had great success. Make sure you pre heat it a lot... I fired up the Foundry and kept the heat low... did this 3 times.

Would buy again
This crucible does everything I need it to. I think it’s probably a 4KG crucible but can’t say for sure. I made sure to heat it in the oven at 300° F for an hr to get any moisture out of it and then temper it By heating it in the foundry to red hot and letting it cool in the foundry as slow as possible all night before use to avoid the crucible from breaking. So far I’ve done about 5 melts of copper and brass in it and it’s held up just fine at temperatures of probably over 2000° F. For the $20 it does everything it needs to very well. Would definitely buy again.

Buy the correct size
Pretty sturdy up until copper melting temperatures. Decent value for money. You're buying the size that you get 2. Kilograms is not that big but enough to melt cans.

Good price, decent product, no complaints so far
Pros: Can't beat the price Decent quality clay graphite Sized about right for melting soda cans Cons: The pour spout is nonexistent Glaze has charred/glassed over in a rough manner Alright, the price on this item is right where it needs to be. But the pictures don't do it justice, as the pour spout is truly nonexistent. On mine, it seriously looks like someone took a construction pencil and drew a different colored mark where there should be a notch. There's not even an outcropping or other indication on the outside of the crucible where the spout is. Since firing it three times, I can no longer tell there was even a notch there. Also, the graphite glaze has apparently become knobby and glass-like (think bb's or teardrop shapes slightly larger) on my crucible. Not sure if this means my temperatures are off, if I'm doing something wrong (admittedly, I'm a Noob, but usually pretty good at following directions), or if it's just a result of this being a cheap item. Time will tell. For the price, would buy again if I needed another.

Quality product and fanstastic customer service
I received my crucible in a timely manor as promised. When i first used it it cracked and broke. I was under the impression it did not need to be pre heated so i put it directly in the smelter. When i let them know this they immeditely offered to send me another. I received the second one in just 3 days. This time it had a notice on the box to preheat at 400 degrees for an hour. I did this and just got done with my first fire and it worked perfectly it looks like i will get several fires from this crucible. I will absolutely use them again they have quality products and stand behind them without hesitation.

Very good crucibles
I have two of these now, I use one for aluminum and the other for copper and brass. I’ve used them in my 10 KG Devil Forge many times and have no complaints. The one I use for aluminum still looks brand new. The one I use for copper has been great but with the higher temperatures and making multiple runs has deteriorated A bit but is still working great. It’s a great product at a good price.

Reasonable quality, but often will arrive BROKEN.
I have been buying these crucibles for a long time. They are good and made well enough. The only problem is that I constantly have to exchange them because they come BROKEN due to poor packaging. It's such a shame because they make reasonable crucibles, but can't spend the few extra cents to pack them better.

Amazing Perfect for the Money
For under ten bucks this thing rocks. We hold a blow torch to it to melt tin and it is perfect. Tin doesn't stick to it, heats up nicely. Hasn't cracked. Happy so far.

Es muy fragil, se despostilla y eso q uso pinzas planas especiales para moverlo

Hmm 🤔 Not bad !, but they could have made it out of a metal alloy? As an alternative etc. It’s Only designed to be used in a furnace smelting pot pourer. 😕☹️🤦🏻♂️
