ZassenhausPepper & Salt Mill Set 'Berlin', Black & White, Glossy, 7", with Coaster

These are very attractive, feel nice in my hands, and deliver a good amount of salt or pepper very quickly. I am well pleased!

I’ve owned 3 or 4 pepper grinders over the years and haven’t been happy with any of them, even though they were good brands. Their grind was too fine and too slow to deliver a decent amount. I recently bought a pink salt from the big box store with a built in grinder but it made a big mess and was hard to use. Decided to upgrade to Zassenhaus and solve the problem once and for all. This was sold from Germany, and Amazon suggested shipping would take weeks, but it arrived in 11 days. They are striking and don’t even look like wood, as they are so well finished. They also came with a plexiglass tray to keep the crumbs off your counter, and it too was beautifully machined and was probably worth $10- $15 by itself. The grind setting is on the bottom and easy to adjust, so now one or two twists is all I need to season my food.

I thought it was a little crazy spending this much on salt and pepper mills, but they are quite nice. They're really smooth, not at all hard to grind. I wonder how durable the paint on them is, but that's not a big deal.
