A really good and easy to read Bible for both newcomers to bible study or experienced readers.

Extremely comprehensive addition for a student bible. Highly recommended. It was way nicer in appearance on the exterior than what is depicted above. I was expecting something that looked like a high school textbook in Civics lessons. What I got was a beautiful cover instead. I'm quite surprised and impressed. I'm especially impressed with the quality considering they put metal caps on all the corners to keep them from bending or warping over time. What a genius idea. Well worth the money.

This is the bible we use in our church's confirmation classes and I also often recommend this one for our adult bible study members because of the great format and support materials. For folks new to studying the bible it has blue boxes in the text with explanations of special words or unique cultural customs. Each book of the bible has a great introduction and a calendar for reading the book, and there is a subject guide in the back with bible verses that pertain to the given subject. Good basic maps, and lists of stories, parables, and other special texts to explore are in the back. The bible text is in two columns on each page and is very readable. The NRSV is the translation we use in our worship and we have found it readable and accessible for pre-teens through adults. Happy to recommend it!

I love this Bible and a year later am still very excited with it. It's easy to read, and even includes in the beginning of each book/chapter HOW you should read that particular book with things to look for. People you'll meet in reading that book are introduced and you're given references for where to find more about them. There are lots of little features where a verse will be disected and explained and many extra stories that give you the interesting details behind some of the Biblical characters. It's a million times easier to understand than a KJV. This is the first Bible I've been able to sit down and read and don't want to put it down. It's just much easier to understand. If you have had a hard time reading the Bible, try this one.
