Is this product the one with "Microsphere Technology"? If so, I don't want it (I like the previous version of it).

My recollection is yes but it's been a few months. It is certainly the worst spackle product I've ever used....

does this product dry hard?

Yes. Possible light sand but not always.

I is weather proof can i use in on the exterior of my home?

No it is not weather proof on its own. If you paint it on the wall it will be weatherproof. Make sure you have several coats of paint on it.

Is this good and thin--like sour cream--for really small edge repairs? Most spackle is too thick for me

It's thick but very light (the tub feels empty). It is great form small repairs. It basically feel alike a dry whipped cream. I use it to close holes from nails, screws, etc. It dries quickly, doesn't shrink.
