A thin piece of leather was glued to the bottom of the original sole. The sole underneath the bottom of the shoe had a 3 inch by 1 inch hole that the thin piece of leather was covering up. A retreaded shoe. Will never buy another Stacy Adam product again. I have been purchasing Stacy Adams boots for many years and never had a shoe delaminate like this pair has done. Stacy Adams needs to look in to how their product is being manufactured in offshore manufacturing plants. Stacy Adams use to be a top quality shoe. I purchased them for my father. $96 dollars and 2 days later, they arrived and he happily opened them, only to find that they had already been worn. Not worn around the house, but what appears to be worn to a party or occasion. The soles are scuffed, there are severe creases at the toe and heel, and the heel itself is scuffed, from when you use one foot to hold the shoe and slip your foot out of the other shoe. Not to mention the insert on the inside is coming out. The edge of the heel can be felt through the sole of the shoe, where it ends at the instep. After wearing for a period of time it hurts significantly. Dont expect to stand in these all day, it will kill the arches of your feet. I have had many shoes with cuban stylw heels as these have. They look very nice and can be worn with a suit or with chinos. I had hoped the izsue with the heel would disappear as the heel wire in, but that is not the case. I wiah that I could like them more, but a shoe that hurts the arches if your feet is a virtually worthless shoe.
