My Preferred Sweetener, Love the Top
This is one of my preferred brands of stevia, which I use as a sweetener in veggie smoothies and herbal teas. One of the things I like about this particular brand is the top, which has a shaker side, and also a side you can stick a measuring spoon in if needed. I am going to assume that some shoppers looking at this product are trying to cut back on sugar for some sort of health reason or concern, and are investigating this as an option, so I'm going to tell it to you straight up. Does this taste exactly like sugar? No, it does not. Does it come with the health risks associated with artificial sweeteners on the market such as Nutrisweet, Sweet N Low, and Splenda? No, it does not. Stevia is a natural, plant based product that has been used for decades in other markets, but if memory served, took some time to catch on in the US. If I'm remembering correctly, some of it's US competition didn't want it on the market here because of it's status as a natural product and worked hard to keep it off the market. However, studies have shown that the current extracts being used as sweeteners have no known adverse health effects in humans. Sugar in the quantities currently consumed in the standard American diet in particular is bad news, super bad. Everybody knows about the common risks for things like diabetes, but many people don't realize that even in a non obese person, heavy sugar consumption can damage the liver. I had this straight from my GI doc when I was being treated for medication induced liver damage. I was told they expect dietary and obesity related liver disease within the next 15 years or so to become the number one killer in this country. It's a sobering figure. So again with the straight talk: No, this doesn't taste like sugar, there is a bit of an aftertaste. But then, sugar works on the same pathways as narcotics do on the brain, which is why they use it as a painkiller for newborns in the hospital setting. And why the food industry dumps it in products that traditionally, before mass industrialization of food products, weren't prepared without it. They know it's addictive as heck. But I have been using this for over three years now, and I can tell you...it is something you get to the point where you don't even notice the aftertaste. I know everybody wants to find a product where they can have their cake and eat it too and have it taste exactly the same, so to speak. That just isn't how it works, not with eating habits, not with exercise. Sometimes you have to give something up you really like for something that means more to you in the long run. Monks fruit is another natural option you can look into, and it is less bitter, and I use that for some things as well, but the long term effects haven't been studied as much as Stevia, and I'm a girl that loves safety first, which is why this is my preferred sweetener.

Great taste!
I've tried a few sweetners and this is the best. Always happy to use it in coffee, on cereal. Great sweet taste without any odd aftertaste.

BEST Stevia Leaf Product Out There
This is the only brand of Stevia that I will buy. It doesn't have any aftertaste, and it doesn't contain Erythritol, which is an ingredient I avoid. I also love that this is a family run company founded my by James May, who came across the stevia plant in Paraguay and knew its value. FYI: Their website has a calculator that tells you how much Sweet Leaf to use in place of sugar for your recipes. Very convenient!

Convenient for traveling
I bought this on a whim because I liked the pure stevia liquid version and wanted to try a powdered version. I find that it travels really well, without worry of it leaking. I took it on a weekend trip and used it in my hotel room. I did not take the liquid because liquids always seem to leak no matter what you do. I don't buy the packets anymore because it's a pain to have to rip them all open and have all that trash. But I wanted something convenient and this does the job. It's a little harder to dial in to the exact amount you need, but you can start with less and then just tap a little more in if needed.

Worth buying, but mix with other sweeteners.
Pros: 4 oz (biggest size available, I think) Uses fiber instead of chem-lab fake sugars as a pouring agent. Includes both shaker and spoonable options in the lid. Convenient shaker size. Label generally easy to read. Cons: Not as sweet as sugar. Does have a slight bitter after-taste. I have to mix this with the cheap stuff (based on Erythritol or Dextrose instead of fiber) and a little sugar to get a good sweetness and flavor. Wrapper was difficult to get into properly. Suggestion to manufacturer: Make a version of this (would need to be a larger size) that includes a mixture of Stevia, Inulin, Erythritol (but not much of this, because it's not digestible), and sugar (a small amount is all that's needed) and sell it at a mid-range price instead of the higher price we're all paying for SweetLeaf Stevia these days. Might as well. That's what I'm having to do here at home to make it taste right anyway. Also, include a 1/8 tsp. measure (small rounded measuring-spoon shape, not "teaspoon" shape), and sell these two items as a set in a box (at this price, the box could be made from bamboo or hemp fibers instead of wood fibers). An upgrade with a fancy shaker and spoon set, in a fancy box, as an all-sustainable-materials gift-set, maybe with some upscale teabags, would also be a fun alternative. A companion to this would be, say, a 12 oz or 24 oz. refill container made of biodegradable and recyclable plastic (so everyone would have options regarding whether to recycle or not). Including an address to ship the used plastic to would benefit the environment as well as USPS (which would be part of helping to keep them funded). You could offer coupons to customers who used USPS to ship the used plastic containers to the facility at the address. You could also offer to plant 1 tree for each of those containers shipped there (regardless of the carrier). The facility could break down the plastic and make plastic "bricks" and other materials that could be used as part of manufacturing temporary homes for homeless people, planters for gardening, bubble-wrap, 3D printed honey-comb-lattice-structure "styrofoam," cheap shelving units, and other useful ways of using that type of plastic. You could partner with other companies to get them to do similar things to the things I'm suggesting here. How I use it most often: I make my own soymilk at home, then heat that (at half the volume I'll want total), mix in some Baking Cocoa and vanilla, then I add a few cubes of ice, and then the above mixture of sweeteners, to make chilled chocolate soymilk. I use the above sweetener mixture in other recipes as well, but this is how I use it most often.

This is the best tasting stevia that I've found anywhere. It doesn't have the aftertaste that other sweeteners do. I found that other brands of stevia always have other sweeteners included in the ingredients. Not this one.

Diagnosed as pre-diabetic (A1C = 6.4) last year (Oct 2024) so had to change diet or go on another pill. Opted for the diet change (gave up junk/snacks) and tried various sugar substitutes to help out the cause. I settled on this one because it is mostly natural stevia leaves, has a taste that I could live with, easy, convenient and works for me. My A1C is now 5.7 and I lost 31 lbs so far, feel better and no pills for now anyway.

I rather buy the bottle over the packages you can control the amount better and it seems to not be as clumpy as the packaged stevia.

I like this product as it has no ingredients that bother me. Plus, the price was right. I previously paid almost 20 bucks for one container, plus tax. So this is a good deal.
