The size of the tire and manufacturers of the bike don't matter. The only other concern is if your bike has a cassette or a free wheel. A freewheel screws onto the bike hub and the freewheel is built into the sprocket assembly. In a cassette the freewheel is built into the bike hub. **Q: Will this work on a genesis v2100?** A: I've looked at the specifications and the photos for the genesis v2100 mountain bike. Since your bike is a 21 speed bike with Shimano parts and it's a triple front chain set, it would need a 7 speed rear cluster, I would think that this would work. But I don't know for sure. The best I can recommend is that you buy one and compare to what you have. If it looks similar in cog size and range, my best guess is that it would work since Shimano parts tend to work with other Shimano parts. You can avoid that by brushing and cleaning / lubricating better than I do, but you need to replace these maybe every 12-18 months of heavy 20-50 mile per day riding 5-7 days a week anyway really. These components can last a long time but the more you weigh, dirt roads and debris even on main roadways eventually take their toll. The coating on this is good, the spacing for dirt in the cogs.
