I got this for my son for Christmas. The build quality is solid and it fit over the door without any issues. The rim is metal and pretty stout as well. It has a comparably hefty spring which comes in handy for that moment when you just feel the urge to slam dunk. The ball that came with it also felt like a little nicer quality for this type of product. Very happy overall. I might need to buy another one for my home office.

Great door hoop. Durable and solid design. Does not scratch doors. My boys love it an will not stop playing on it.

Got this for my son‘s room he loves it. The only problem is you’re gonna need a basketball pump for the ball and it is not included. It is fun for kids. It’s functional and it’s easy to assemble.

This product is pretty good, but kinda miss leading. You know that they saw, "oh we have cool springs and stuff on the rim like actually basketball hoops etc." its pretty useless... also when you dunk the backboard which is made out of plastic just bends for some reason and also buy a small basketball hoop not an XL, i bought an XL and its TOO BIG when i put it on my door i dont even need to just to dunk and is pretty boring, buy a regular one! I am giving this product 9 stars for a normal hoop and 8 for the XL. i waited around 3 days for the package btw. the assembling was pretty hard to screw in the small bolts and pretty annoying, and also this product is for like 12-15 year olds its pretty expensive and buy it for kids that acctually enjoy basketball more then a hobby! -Lukas stalauskas

I bought this as a gift. I was very impressed with the quality. It’s made of metal and hard plexiglass sort of material for the backboard. Rim itself is made of metal. Net is of good quality too. This has held up to a 9 yo dunking on it. It was very easy to assemble. Great for indoor use on a door. Great value.

Nice metal rim. Seems well built. Wish plexiglass backboard was just a LITTLE thicker but overall I was surprised at the quality. Think I got it on sale for 30-35$. Would definitely recommend spending the extra few bucks for this than getting a cheaper plastic one that will break.

UPDATE: 12/26/2014 My son has had the worst luck the past day-and-a-half with this set. His grandfather went to inflate the ball that came with the set a bit and ended up blowing it up by accident. I had purchased a second ball when I bought this set so he was still able to play. Sadly, not thirty minutes ago he went to make a basket with the second ball and the whole bottom half of the backboard sheared off! It went rocketing to the floor with a huge crash, missing him thankfully. I am in shock. This basketball set gets played with frequently and we have never had an issue with it. I purchased it almost exactly one year ago so it definitely did not get as much use as I would have expected or hoped. I have to say it did not shatter which is good however, it sheared off horizontally just above the screws on the back of the hoop where it joins the Plexiglas. Luckily the top of the backboard is still attached to the door. I lowered my star rating from five to three due to this issue. He did get a lot of enjoyment out of it whilst it was whole and intact however, the fact that it is now in two pieces and unusable after only a year leads me to correct my initial review. We have no place to put an actual hoop as our driveway is on a hill so when I saw this I thought it might be just what my son needed. He has been begging for a basketball hoop for years and if we lived anywhere else but on a steep hill we would have installed one long ago. This hoop is built exactly like an actual basketball hoop. Metal hoop, metal springs and Plexiglas backboard. It has a dense foam on the back and metal hooks to hang from an interior door. It is very, very sturdy. I could likely hang from the hoop without damaging it - not that I am going to lol. We installed this in our foyer as it is large and open and with nothing breakable nearby. I should mention we have wood flooring so I've no idea how this would work on carpeting. The ball that came with it works well. It maybe is not as bouncy as a regular basketball but my son has no complaints. He will play with this thing for an hour at a time and while he certainly doesn't play quietly at least he isn't pestering his little sister!

I had this Mini Hoop for over a year now. And it has almost no scratches, and doesn't damage the doorframe when playing indoors. It comes with all the parts, and had good springs to dunk on. This is a perfect gift for any teen! Instructions were very easy to follow, and took about 7 minutes to set up. Perfect for indoors!
