Is this a soft material found in higher quality fitted t's or is it the god awful fitting "hanes beefy-t" style?

Definitely a higher quality material . The shirt’s expensive but you’re paying for a nice shirt. Imagine it won’t shrink much, either.

Is the size listed in European or American?

European Do not dry the shirts in the dryer hang dry them they were out very fast and get holes when you do it in many dries in the dryer
