Good book but too focused on Dreamweaver
The book is a good tool for beginners, such as myself. However, it supports a very important portion of its explanations on Adobe Dreamweaver. For first time learners such as myself, who don't happen to own that Software, this becomes a nuisance, since you fail to receive the complete explanation or concept, and instead get the "it comes automatic in Dreamweaver" alternative.

Great reference amterial and planning material but
This is more of an intermediate to advanced web design manual. Great reference amterial and planning material but, it's not a book for beginners and definitely not a Web Design for Dummies.

Great Buy
I bought this since the HTML5 and CSS3 for dummies hasn't been released yet and when I bought it I barely had an understanding of this stuff and now I'm all the way into php and mysql. GREAT BOOK, with tons of extras.

Great Book for the beginner
A solid source of information about a wide range of subjects regarding web design, tools and other resources related to the internet. If you are interested in constructing your own web site this is a must have resource.

Pretty easy to use
Really helped me get my outdated web skills up to par. What it didn't provide, it told me where to find.

This book was exactly what I was looking for. It isn’t just another coding book for my collection (true there is some coding in here, if that’s what you seek) it covers the whole web development process and in enough depth to make it useful. I guess I’m the “ideal customer” for the book, I’m starting out as a web developer in the early stages of getting customers. This guide covers everything from choosing colours to uploading onto the server.

Bought it as a present for my 12 year old freak son in law. He loved it so I love it too.

I am starting a degree in a few weeks and one of the modules is Web Design. I wanted to have something to give me some background information so I didn't feel like a fish out of water when I arrived! This book had lots of information, but as someone who is a total beginner I found that it actually confused me more than when I started! First of all, the vocabulary has no definition, so certain words are used and I am frantically trying to find out what they even mean, in the end I had google up and had to look up each word just so I know what they were talking about! I am sure that to someone who has at least done a little web design before they might find it helpful, but from a beginners point of view this has actually made me even more worried about my course because it's now sitting on the shelf with me trying to avoid it! On a plus - lots and lots of information, I am hoping once I start the course this might become less terrifying and actually be a real help, but you definitely need a foundation there before you start it.
