A great read with wonderful viewpoint characters and a satisfying conclusion to .......
A great read with wonderful viewpoint characters and a satisfying conclusion to struggle with their new life, dealing with politics, religion, and hatred for others nation. If you have read the Well of Ascension from Brandon, it has a similar slow pace to it. With the climax delivered in the last 10% of the book, with everything coming together in the end.

Best Fantasy Standalone!
6/5⭐ If you are planning to start a #Sanderson novel and is intimidated by the whole #Cosmere series, Warbreaker, in my opinion, is a great place to start. It has everything that you can expect out of Sanderson but bottled in a standalone. A very explosive bottle. 🤯 #Warbreaker is the story of two sisters, the God King one of them has to marry, a lesser god and an immortal trying to undo the mistakes of his past. This is pretty much all you need to know before you go in, and let Sanderson take you on one of the greatest rides of your life. What I loved? ✨The magic system is absolutely unique and ‘colorful’ (its colour based😍). But what sets it apart from other hard systems like Allomancy is the fact that Bio Chromatic magic is more of an aid in battle than the weapon itself. The magic is still in its primitive state, meaning, the world is still understanding it’s limits, making the plot even more interesting. ✨ The characters are absolutely brilliant! The two sisters are polar opposites (gave me serious Anna-Elsa vibes), their arcs are unique, and watching their development was an absolute treat. Lightsong - I dare you to not fall in love with him. I DARE YOU. 👀 Every character is memorable, and I still keep opening the book to random pages to re-read.🥺 ✨Romance. Subtle, but beautiful.❤️ ✨There’s a friggin talking sword! (If that’s just not the greatest thing after a dragon, I don’t know what is) ✨ I freaked out when I realised I just had 100 more pages and too many unanswered questions, but then Sanderson just slammed everything to my face. THE best 100 pages I have ever read in my life. ✨After you see the first plot twist you will be thrilled and go ‘I think I saw that coming… but it was good’, but then you get another one, and then another one and it keeps on coming till the very last page of the damn book. At this point, you will just throw the book on the floor realising you just dumb. TL;DR : Unique magic system + badass women + action + romance + talking sword + uncovering deep secrets & lies + plot twists of the century!

Best standalone novel
I am writing this review one year after reading the book. The reason was I was searching for similar standalone novel for same taste but didn't find anything. So came here to appreciate Brandon Sandeeson. It's one of the best standalone fantasy novel I have read. The book from start to finish keep you hooked. You get attached to characters easily. And the magic system of breath control is so genius. I just can't get more of it. I wish there is 2nd part of these novel.

Mandatory cosmere
I I probably should have read this earlier in my comers Reading order WHAT I LIKED : Few people can write a magic system better than Sanderson , this book is no different, based on a unique but easy to understand magic system The plot and character are also very much a mainstay of the book , with the 2 pivotal protagonist undergoing huge character growth throughout the book length There was a healthy dose of humour in the book , mainly involving Denth and Lightsong The key lesson taught in the book is to get over one’s prejudice and not base your judgement on stereotypes This lesson is so crucial that I as a reader myself fell in the trap of believing in stereotypes and forming my own judgements before reading the jaw dropping twist While not action-heavy , when the action does take place , it’s vivid and entertaining to read . WHAT I DIDNT LIKE : The pacing of the book could have been much better as the book often fell on a dull interlude Many characters felt like throwaway characters , getting a chapter in and then being barely ever getting a mention The villains plot felt weak , his motivations were understandable but the plan he laid in place were full of plot holes The finale just felt anti climactic with few villains who were key beforehand never even appearing for the final battle and the conclusion just happened , without any real progression . CONCLUDING THOUGHTS : For many , this is there favourite cosmere tale , I don’t really care for cosmere as much ,but this felt like a good decent tale , I didn’t like it as much as Elantris or Mistborn or Way of kings , but it was enjoyable

Definitely worth a read-interesting new way to see magic
Loved the book, builds well, it's an interesting twist on the regular fantasy novel magic that I've read before.

Awesome standalone Fantasy Fiction
Great story, beautifully crafted ways of magic using colours of all things as a source. Doesn't seem farfetched at all. And yes, this book's story does bleed into the more popular Stormlight Archive, so if you haven't read that series, you should read this first. Some scenes and dialogues makes more sense in the Stormlight books. But since the characters in Stormlight have no idea of the world in Warbreaker, we are kind of in the same soup as them too, so it doesn't matter in the end. But certain dialogues are way more cooler in the Stormlight archives, if you know this world. Coming to Warbreaker, story is quite gripping and oozing with fantasy world plots and descriptions. Will keep busy till the end. For those who have read Stormlight, Hoid is here as well...doing what he does best...telling stories.

interesting
Good world buildup and magic system. Interesting characters. But for some reason or the other I couldn’t really care much about any character.

Capolavoro. Come praticamente tutto quello che scrive Sanderson ;-)

Sanderson standard
There's not much point saying anything other than: if you're already reading the Cosmere books, you should definitely ready this (especially if you've read Wait of Kings already since you get a glimpse of a couple of characters here). If you're not reading the Cosmere books yet, you should give them a chance, you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who has read them and not liked them I think.

I cant put this mans books down
Ive yet to find a book of this authors that ive been able to put down. Brandon Sanderson has a knack for creating fascinating worlds, magic systems and characters. Since reading Elantris a few years ago Ive been repeatedly astonished by this mans craft. He has been the cause of several very late nights. Tomboyish Siri and Cultured Vivienna are two princesses. Vivienna is destine to marry the Godking SuseBron as part of a treaty between two nations. Her sister Siri is sent to marry the godking instead and is totally unprepared and unsuited for the role. Vivienna normally the calmest of the pair sets off to rescue her sister in an act of uncharacteristic role reversal. Lightsong is a recently Reawakened immortal reincarnated as a god, he has however no memory of his life prior to his awakening and feels his life as a 'god' in the court of the Godking is empty and shallow. As Siri gets to know Susebron and Vivienna tries to rescue her sister it becomes obvious there is a conspiracy afoot. But whose ant to what end. No Sanderson book would be complete without a new and interesting magic system. He has produces another diverting offering in the form of Biochromatics and 'breaths'. Those imbued with magic own a number of 'breaths' these breaths allow then to perform magic. The use of magic gives off an aura of enhanced color. Those who have been drained of magic seem grey - or drab. Part of the entertainment is understanding how the magic system works, its integral to the books plot - a common point in all of Brandons books. so im not going to go into it in any detail. Warbreaker -like Elantris is a stand alone novel. Its slower paced than many of his other works - with much of the activity centering around the political machinations of the court of the god-king. Its a book about challenging assumptions , with the actuality often being the reverse of first appearances. It features poweless gods full of magic they fear to use ,and short lived immortals with no memory or purpose save to die again. Its also a literary opposite of the Mistborn series. Where the mistborn series is action based , this is political, where the emperor is ruthless, here he is childlike. While somewhat slow paced, it is excellent in its encapulation of its premise and story in a single volume. Its an excellent book, probably not his best to date but still a five star effort. Given the prodigious recent output we have seen from him, its not suprising that some books are more action oriented than others. This is an excellent novel worth picking up even if you are not a dedicated fan. If you havent read anything by Brandon - id probably recommend Elantris instead - or if you want a series with plenty of action - id recommend his excellent Mistborn series - starting with The Final Empire: Mistborn Book One
