The stitching and MOLLE is great quality, and the construction is such that I am sure this bag would last a lifetime.But there are some very serious drawbacks that are deal-breakers for me, the worst of which are:* The bag is VERY thin, so if you put a laptop and a sidearm in it, it bulges badly. That would normally be OK, but the front flap is rigid, so what you get is flaps that blow in the wind and catch on everything you walk too close to.* Under the front flap are some pockets for pens, clips, cables, etc. - except only a couple are actually pockets - most of them are loops with the top and bottom open, so they won't actually hold anything that cannot clip to them.* And even a pen is so long that it dips below the front flap, and so when the bag is closed, you have a bunch of pen tips showing - even with nothing in there, it looks odd to have the bottom part of the loops and pockets visible.* The handle on the top is also sewn so far forward on the flap that you cannot use it when and have the bag "squared" and the MOLLE on the front to line up with the side. It's maybe designed for grabbing the bag from a flat surface to tilt it up and grab it, but you cannot carry the bag by it.* The sides will accommodate a 12-oz water bottle, but the pockets are sewn such a way that the bottle cannot reach the bottom of the pocket. Imagine sewing a flat pocket shaped like a "U", and then putting a bottle into that pocket - it feels off, and the bottle cannot reach the lower part of the pocket and rest neatly.* Rain and sand gets everywhere in this bag, since the flap does not cover the entirety of the pockets or sit securely on the font of the bag. There is no part of this bag that will not be exposed to the elements under anything more than a light mist.Basically, I think this is a fine bag to carry a few flat documents on the inside and look cool doing it. But a as a tactical bag for a laptop, sidearm, ammo, a couple small tools, and a first-aid kit? Nope. If this bag were just a couple inches deeper, and the front flap a couple inches longer to cover more of the front face, it would be a fine bag. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ killer diaper bag *by R***T on Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2016* I can't comment on this bag as a messenger bag but I will comment on its use as a manly diaper bag. as a stay at home dad I refused to go out in public with a diaper bag for mom's. This bag is just large enough for everything we need for the day and would easily accommodate an overnight without the need to resupply. Yes, it does have lots of pockets and places for items and this is handy for organizing the many accessories a child may need. You can attached items to the outside with carabiners for handy quick access teething rings or little toys. external water bottle pockets allow for a bottle for the kiddo and a water bottle for me. Open the bag and you can find everything you need tucked away in its own little compartment. Having all the Velcro on the outside lets me add any patches I like to make personalize the bag. I did give the bag five stars but I have one complaint, I wish it was a couple inches wider but length and height wise its perfect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice bag, could be better, for the price it should be perfect! *by S***L on Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2017* This is a pretty nice bag, looks good and functions well as an alternative to a briefcase or attache. Quality is good which should be expected considering the price, more on that in a minute. My main attraction to this bag as well as other 5.11 products was/is the CCW ready feature of the bag(s), summer months makes on person concealed carry a little difficult although that is the preferred method for a host of reasons. Ok, here are two main issues with the bag, the padded laptop pocket and the CCW pocket. The padded laptop pocket is is really wide, it fills the entire inside of the bag, it would accommodate a 5" thick 16" wide beast from years past. The bottom of the padded sleeve spills into the bottom of the bag where items such as pens, memory sticks or other small items could find themselves and you have to go feeling around to find them. Also, the padding in the bottom does not extend all the way to the back side so depending on where your laptop finds itself in this large pocket there may be no padding between your laptop and the hard ground other than a layer of Condura fabric. The other area I'm not wild about is the CCW ready pocket, some people say they don't like the fact that there is a zipper as well as a velcro closure, I don't mind that at all and understand why it was designed like that. My issue is with the velcro patch inside the pocket, in my opinion it's on the wrong side of the pocket, a little difficult for me to draw from that side of the pocket and also the weight of the weapon tends to pull the pocket open with the zipper open and velcro separated. Why not put a velcro patch on both sides to at least give people the option, cost couldn't be a nickle? Speaking of cost, want to get an idea of what a bag like this cost to manufacture in China, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam or wherever they are having it made, this bag says made in Vietnam? (It's not made in the USA) Google Alibaba and search tactical backpacks, bags or anything else for that matter and see what your price is, in fairly small volumes your price for a bag similar to this would be about $12-$15 dollars, they will put whatever name you want on it, wonder why SOG bags are 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of these? They use the same 1000D or 1050D Condura materials, sure the attention to detail may be a little different and there are some design differences here and there like extra tacking at stress points, and extra loop here another pocket there etc but that doesn't add squat to the cost, you specify, they make, that's what $2-$3 dollar a day labor cost gets you. The actual manufacturing cost on a bag like this made in Vietnam is well under $10 and of course that is all based on volume, I know, I'm only buying one at a time and not a hundred or a thousand or ten thousand, I get that. This same bag made in the USA would probably cost $50 to manufacture and 5.11 would have to sell it for $500 to approach the same profit margins. So what's my point? If your going to make your product overseas and opt for profits over patriotism then you better make the damn thing perfect, and for crying out loud offer a lifetime warranty!!!
