Worth the money...
Very sturdy...Just need to make a pole to connect it to.

It's pretty good!
I researched a few spearheads and this one didn't have any reviews. I took a chance and and bought it anyway. I took it on a trip put in on a handle and didn't have to use it but I really like the quality. It has a ridge for reinforcement and the tang is short but solid. I believe the the weakest part of this knife would be the shaft. I even used the compass and it pointed north.

Excellent in every way
As advertised, quite a bit better in fact. Serious heft. Came today, just ordered a second one. Fits on anything with a broom handle thread, including adjustable extension poles.

Good And Bad points
On the plus side, this is a huge, heavy, beast of a thing. It is thick and solid and feels like it could take a lot of punishment. The handle does come off and the threaded bit seems strong enough to take the stresses of actually using it as a spear. Also it's pretty inexpensive for something so chunky. On the minus side... This thing is dull. Not like sharpen a bit with a stone then hone dull, like take a file or grinder to it dull. It technically has an edge, but it's more of a corner. Also it supposedly has a compass or something in it? I think I can hear it rattling in there, but there doesn't seem to be any actual way to get in to it. Honestly this wasn't why I bought it (I didn't even notice it was supposed to be there when I did) but it's a bit annoying. I have a guess about which part is supposed to unscrew, but it's only a guess because it doesn't.

Factory reject?...
BLUF: I think I got a ‘bad batch’. I just got this yesterday - here are my observations, right out-of-the-box. (I wish I could post pics, but the review site is not allowing me to do so?...)PROs:-Weight - not too heavy, but not too flimsy either; about the weight of a hammer.-Spearhead is (understandably) not too sharp, but nothing a little sharpening can’t fix.-Sheath seems adequate, but I may add a pocket on to it to make it more versatile.-Threw some ranger bands on the handle and, along with the weight, it feels solid.CONs:-Compass doesn’t work; it’s free-floating, won’t hold a bearing, and you can’t read it during low light. I replaced mine with a liquid-filled compass that glows in the dark (of note, replacing the compass was easy to do, as the glue that was holding it in was not that strong...which is another ding?)-Survival kit is ‘ok’...but I’m going to be building my own. The kit container is plastic, looks worn/used, and is definitely NOT waterproof. Luckily, the storage compartment has a rubber o-ring on it; but should water/moisture get in, I don’t think there’s anything from stopping any further water intrusion into the kit itself. The kit contains a fish hook, line, a blade, and some matches but, again, I’m going to be swapping these out for items I have used (and trusted) before.-The spearhead is bent...by about (5-6) degrees; not too much, but still noticeable. It was only when I actually looked to see how straight the spearhead was, did I notice it. Again, I wish I could post pictures (this is freakin’ unbelievable...I wanna cry). I gave high marks for sturdiness and durability, because it is sturdy, and seems durable, but I ‘hope-to-God’ this thing doesn’t fail if/when the situation calls for it (camping/hiking). The blade says ‘handmade...’, but I think whomever put mine together was having a ‘bad day’...I wanted to like this thing...like I stated previously, I think my order was a ‘factory reject’, so it may just be me (by the looks of some of the other comments I see, I think that’s the case). I hope other folks will have a better experience...

Use tape
Useful but you'll need to make a spear handle or use a thick wood I don't advise brrom plastic but use metalUse ducktape on the pole shaft before putting it inside you want a sturdy handle and use string for easy transportation

Good value
It’s simple straight forward and it does what it needs to

Good idea but the blade portion was pretty dull
If you can find a broomstick with the right thread to screw it on, it makes a good spear. However, most broomsticks capable of taking it as an attachment are pretty weak and flimsy. See if you can find a stronger staff or metallic rod with similar capability. You wouldn't want the staff to break after dispatching your 3rd grizzly bear, now would you? The point is nice and sharp, but the blade isn't. It seems to be ground properly, but will need to be sharpened to provide a real cutting edge. This and it's weight make it somewhat impractical as a sheath knife. It does seem to be well made and you can add a star if you plan to use it only as a spear and don't mind sharpening it properly.
