Picked it up second hand months ago, and now it's only £15 new I think it's time to write a review.Firstly, let me say this: this game is a beat-em-up. It breaks no new ground in the genre. If you're looking for something experimental, or something that makes use of the Wii's gimmicks, try Super Smash Brothers Brawl.Secondly, if you're NOT looking for gimmicks, then I suggest you pick up Soul Blade for the original PlayStation. The game is just as good. With a second hand playstation it'll cost you just as much. Unless you're a connoisseur of the genre, most beat-em-ups end up being really generic.Now the good points. Contrary to Harrison Dent's Amazon review there IS a roaming RPG beat-em-up element to this game called Konquest. It's fairly short (taking only about 12 hours to beat, 15 to fully complete) but it's there. Additionally in the straight beat-em-up mode (which has more hours of gameplay than I have hours of patience) you can choose from just about every character in the Mortal Kombat universe - or even make your own character with a unique fighting style and appearance. Even better is that you don't have to play the game for hours to unlock all the cool characters - if you and a mate want to fight Daegon (the new protagonist) vs Shao Kahn then all you need to do is put the game in your Wii and start playing.If you like Wii gimmicks then the motion control shouldn't be a problem for you (it's only used for special moves and the controls are more friendly than, say, Red Steel). If you don't like waggling the Wii remote in vain, plug in a classic controller and ignore the argument of whether or not the motion control is hard to use.The racing mini-game is very gimmicky. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of gimmicky racing games: I was not impressed by this game mode. On the plus side, though it's not saying much, Motor Kombat is probably the best racing game that's an extra (way better than Mario Party's and WarioWare's racing modes).It's cheap. It'll entertain you. But, then I found out that one needs to add the other controller on the wii menu wii controll settings not the game menu I thought that I had a defective disk. The game is faily good lots of options. I still prefer Snes Street fighter 2 but, this is not bad for a modern fighting game. The age rating is a joke 18, for this game. It should not have any age rating on it.
