It was wrinkled the iron could not smooth it out. So I followed the washing and drying directions. I spent 30 minutes trying to smooth the wrinkles out. Now mind you I ran a Bed and Breakfast for nine years. I know how to handle tableclothes. The white color is a nice, cooler, pure white, which is exactly what I wanted.All the hems and seams of the tablecloth were all neatly finished with no hanging threads to fray or snag. The cloth is thick enough to add a little bit of padding to the table even if you don't use a waterproof table pad. I do intend on using a pad and an over cloth of lace for formal dining, or a clear vinyl topper for casual every day use. Either way, the fabric is substantial with a nice weave to it.The most important thing for me was to find a tablecloth large enough to fit my dining room table, whether with or without the addition of the extra table leaf. This cloth is available in enough sizes to accommodate even the portable, larger banquet tables, so it should have no problem fitting yours.I washed it gently in cool water with mild detergent and fabric softener, and dried it on a low dry sensor setting. As I took it out of the dryer, I shook it out, folded it, and placed it in my china cabinet. The color did not yellow, fade or streak at all, and there is no need for ironing or even a touch up.It will service my needs very well.For the price, I am extremely happy with my purchase.
