This thumbprint pad works exactly as described—no messy ink, just a clear, dark print that dries instantly. I use it for documents that require fingerprint verification, and it leaves a sharp mark without smudging or transferring. The compact case keeps it from drying out, and it’s small enough to carry in a bag or desk drawer. Great for notary work, business use, or personal security documents.

I'll chalk it up to me not reading the description well enough - there is only one pad (even though the picture shows 2). After I put a label maker arrow on the opening side, it is working well. Nice, large pad and easier to open that a previous purchase of fingerprint pads.

I generally don't leave recommendations. I have not made any comparisons with other similar products. I almost gave a 4-star rating, because fingerprinting was not as easy as I imaged it to be, but I have never done it before. It has been a week after receiving the fingerprint pads that I am writing. I am impressed that this pad is small enough to fit in palm of my hand, and easy to open. I was not impressed with my first fingerprint which looks like I have been soaking my finger in water for such a long that wrinkled and made gaps in the fingerprint. I can't help but wonder if that is the effect of being elderly. With some practice, I can make much better fingerprints. I found that rubbing my finger with a tissue just before inking helps quite a bit. The fingerprint dries instantly. To test if the fingerprint would smear, I inked my forefinger and then pressed it to paper and then as fast as possible rubbed it with my middle finger. I did not observe swearing, but I did see a very light trace of black ink on my middle finger. This "trace" was so light that if it had been any lighter, then I would not have been able to see it. About a week later, I sprayed alcohol on the fingerprint and rubbed it with a tissue, and it did not appear to me to have lost any of the fingerprint image. I am a man with dry skin. The ink does not come off my finger with a dry tissue. If I spray alcohol on the tissue (enough to wet the tissue, and clean immediately) that works extremely well to remove the ink entirely from my finger. Strangely, if I spray the alcohol on my finger and rub with a tissue, then it doesn't work so well, because I have do it 3 times to be really clean. I recommend you use the Amazon search "packs of alcohol wipes" (without the quotes). And, plan to carry the alcohol wipes with you when you intend to use the fingerprint pad. Beware that an alcohol cleaned finger will be harder on the next fingerprint. I recommend not cleaning until you finish making fingerprints. I would not allow the ink to stay on my finger for long, not that I know it might be a cleaning problem, but because I fear it might be a problem. This is very black ink. I bought this fingerprint pad, because I shake so badly that my signature changes every time I sign something. I am fearful that my mail-in-ballot will be rejected because of the wild variations in my signature. I submitted this review on 17-Mar-2025.

Works fine for what I needed I needing snowing small and that dries quickly the size was small and compact. Durability for the small container was nice non color.

Perfect ink pads

I needed to finger print some forms, used this and it worked well. The finger prints came out nice a sharp, and the clean up is just wiping off your fingers. It doesn't come off 100% but 90-95% will just wipe off so you don't have to go running to wash your hands or worry about getting ink everywhere. This comes with a two sided tape already attached to the bottom so you can place it in a semi-perm spot if you want to. It is small and light so its very easy to carry with you if that's your thing. It is possible to take finger print with multiple fingers, but you just have to be quick because it does dry quickly, and i don't think that its really made for that. It would be easier the larger traditional ink pad for a four finger print, like on the FBI background check form, other than that works great. Pawn shops (in CA) need a thumb print, this would be perfect for that.

A gentle press on the ink pad is all that is needed to leave your fingerprint. No smudges or blots. Very satisfied. Thank you!
