Having managed listening to the TV using headphones plugged into the set my wife suggested that I go wireless (in the interest of safety due to the risk of tripping over the cable). My first trial was a Bluetooth set with an over the ear headset. There was no balance option and my hearing is worse in one ear. Also, I found the large headphones tiring to wear. My next choice was the Simolio SM - 824D1 wireless radio transmitter and receiver. This set has two charging points and a spare battery which charges in the transmitter base. At the moment I have no idea how long the batteries will last, however, after 2 hours use recharging does not seem to take long. With hindsight it would have been sensible to have bought the SM - 824D2 version, with two headsets, as there is the facility to charge two headsets. I find the radio transmitter type to be better than Bluetooth as the signal enables you to move around your home and still hear the TV. The volume and balance controls are conveniently place and being able to increase the volume to one ear is a real advantage. There is also an option to press a button and hear anyone speaking to you in the room. The quality of sound is true to the sound of the TV but obviously clearer if you hearing is not so good. If you have a TV with small, tinny speakers, you will notice a much improved sound from the headset. Speech is particularly clear. With regard to comfort, I didn’t have any problem using the headset straight from the box. The ear clips provided are good as these reduce any weight on the ears. It is possible to adjust the arms and ear pieces, however, to personalise the fit, although I haven’t changed anything so far. To sum up - the 824 fits the bill and I am very pleased with my choice. Last word, I had two or three queries and the Customer Support team provide an excellent service.

I was a tad apprehensive buying this dual headset, for myself and for my wife. After using them for a week, we are both very impressed with the sound, the ease of use and of all the accessories that are included. This is a very well thought out set. We can now hear speech with pure crystal clear clarity, but for me, best of all, is the subleties like birds singing in in the background or a stream gurgling that do enhance TV watching, are now there. These sounds normally would certainly go unheard by me. The docking station and headphones are neat and very easy to set up, there is a volume control to hand on the headset along with balance for your left or right ear and even a little Mic button on the back to enable normal conversation if required. Treble and Bass are available on the docking station, plus stereo or mono. A spare charged battery is held in the docking station for the headphones. Placing the headphones in the cradle after use, charges both pair simultaneously. For us the included items provided were all we required. Plug in the power, attach the digital cable or RCA jack directly to the source, switch on and enjoy. The only criticism I would mention is that after a couple of hours of TV listening my ears do feel just a little uncomfortable but I can happily live with this because of the sound quality.... Brilliant. I will try the different ear caps that are provided and adjustments to the bendable arms to achieve a little more comfort. (It could just be my ears getting used to them.) In all these headphone are highly recommended to anyone who struggles with hearing TV sound, they won't do your street cred any good, but who cares? Importantly both of us are now very happy with our purchase, and we are enjoying our television again. :)

Easy to setup with the Optical connection, worked straight away no messing about tuning and pairing etc. All cables supplied for three different types of connecting to various TV types. Sound quality and volume very good. Neat and tidy smart design. Choice of two types of ear bud useful, comfortable to wear, light weight. No wires trailing across the floor to the TV, no need to pair for Bluetooth. My 3 year old TV has a Bluetooth option but when connected turns off sound from TV speakers so no good for others in the room. Very clear instructions. Microphone on rear of head set not very efficient as the unit is against your body when wearing it, not a problem as very easy just to take off the headset to talk. This system is very good,I have had a set of same design, different manufacturer for about ten years and they served me well. Ecellent that you can listen to the TV at your own preferred volume without affecting volume from TV for other people in the room. Would highly recommend these to anyone who has poor hearing or wishes not to disturb others while viewing TV. I am now 63 years old and this type of device has made a huge difference to the pleasure of TV viewing. Cheaper types on the market but do not have as many operating features.

The product, double wireless headphones, was well explained and ordering was simple. Immediate confirmation of the order was given along with information on delivery which was on time, well notified, and well packed in minimal recyclable packaging. Good, printed installation instructions were easy to follow and our TV was modern enough for us to use the optical connection, so we had no problems with the installation or sound quality. We appreciate the fact that the TV can be used separately or muted while the headphones are adjusted to the wearers' requirements. Also, a good feature is the ability to have personal control over muting the headset phones in order to carry out a conversation without having to remove the phones or having to disturb the TV. We have not rated the battery so far as the product is very new to us, but we do appreciate that there is a spare battery ready for use stored within the charger. Today we had an email from Simolio to check on any problems we may have experienced together with information in the form of usage tips, and the rectification of possible problems others have experienced in the past. It demonstrates that the company does care about its new customers which we were pleased to know, since we are elderly, and not very electronically literate.

It isn't compatible for hard of hearing

These are invaluable. At last I can hear the TV clearly without annoying my neighbours with loud volume. They are comfortable to wear too. This is a second pair I have had & I couldn’t be without them. Brilliant.

I just love this kit . I have had 3 sets of other brands over the years but the Simolio is miles ahead in quality ,aesthetic looks and comfort. I bought the double set which was to save swaping out the battery each time it runs out . I can easily binge watch box sets and get a full day from the li ion battery of which there are 3 ( one in each headset and a spare in the base ) As for comfort they are light weight and you can bend thearms to suite your head/ears and they wont break . The position of the volume and balance wheels are in the perfect place . The MIC is amazing when someone wants to talk all you do is press the small button on the back with your right thumb ( very well desinged ) and the voice of the people talking on MIC is crystal clear . The sound while watching a movie is almost like being in the cinema and I pay alot of attention to sound track in a movie . I can't recommend these highly enough . I have only one little niggle but this could be dismissed by others is that I would have liked a set of larger earbuds but as I say this is personal to me as everyone has different sie of outer ear . I will not take any points off for this. Well done Simolio for pruducing a fantastic product . One word of caution : when you place the set on the base for charging make sure the simolio faces front and puch lightly . If facing the wrong way there could be a possibility of bending the tiny pins that align with the headset. Afternote : I connected via optical lead ( supplied ) .

I have industrial hearing loss so have trouble with the higher frequencies and have had a problem for years listening to the telly whilst in bed, i.e. no hearing aids in. I have had numerous headphones but never been very happy with the result. I took a chance on these Simolia headphones, and it was a chance as they are expensive. The result was outstanding with superb volume range and the ability to adjust the Bass and stereo function. I have been able to configure them as to my personal requirements and can now listen very comfortably. The one complaint I would have is that they are a bit heavy on the ears and as I have had hearing aids in all day, it would be nice to not have that 'pull' on the ears. I have considerably eased this problem by NOT using the ear 'hangers' but letting the headphone just lie on my chest with the ear plugs just resting on my lobes with no weight on them. (that's why only 4 stars as otherwise it would be 5). I put them on charge only once a week but only use them when I go to bed and watch a bit of telly whilst nodding off. Any problem I have is well outweighed by the sound quality I get.

Non costa poco ma è ben fatto. Facile installazione, trasmissione ottima, voce chiara e resistente alle torsioni dei braccetti. Facile da maneggiare per un anziano poco tecnologico. Forse gli switch di on/off potevano essere più grandi, visto il target. Facile la ricarica ma poteva essere leggermente più facile l'incastro alla base per chi non ha più una perfetta manualità. Basta prenderci la mano.

98 yo just loves it.

Venía de unos Sennheisser con un diseño similar y que me funcionaron perfectamente durante años. Pero el tiempo y el uso los deterioró y tuve que buscar otros. Para mí sorpresa, Sennheiser ya no fabrica este tipo de auriculares, y los más parecidos eran estos. Pero se parecen en la forma y en la función y poco más. Estos suenan peor, las baterías duran mucho menos y además, de vez en cuando se desconectan de la tele y hay que encender y apagar la base o la tele para que funcionen correctamente. Me han decepcionado bastante y echo mucho de menos los antiguos. Sinceramente no puedo recomendarlos, yo estoy buscando otras soluciones EDITO: Al final me puse en contacto con el vendedor y me envió una base nueva sin costo. Y con esta base nueva la situación ha cambiado, se oye mejor y, lo más importante, no se desconectan los auriculares al apagar la tele. Está claro que la primera base está estropeada. Muy agradecido al vendedor por su amabilidad y diligencia y ahora estoy más contento con el producto y sí lo recomendaría.

Wish I could give this more stars. Bought one for my sister and she Loves it. Tried other headsets for us and nothing was as easy to operate or as good as these. You can leave the room and still hear. My electronically challenged husband can run them. They make listening to the TV soooo much easier especially the British shows.

Mi madre con deficiencia auditiva ha quedado encantada con el producto, el cual cumple a la perfección todas sus especificaciones. La instalación ha sido muy sencilla, conectar dos cables y sin tener que configurar nada más. El uso es cómodo, se siente ligero. Buena calidad del sonido. La función 'mic' permite escuchar a quienes están alrededor sin quitarse el aparato. Puede andar por toda la casa y seguir escuchando la TV.
