Yes. I use my Nut Chopper as a First Process to get almonds down to a size that my coffee bean grinder can handle to finally get the almonds down to powder. But the kibble pieces will be small. At first you might not notice but on both sides of the chopper wheel, the front, if grinding with the right hand, the slots are smaller and so you will get a finer grind by turning forward with the right hand, but the back side of the chopper the slots are larger for a coarser chop. SO my guess is that this would be a good fit for you, but use it with your left hand turning the crank forward and that will probably give you a chop with very little powder. **Q: Has anyone used this on mesquite beans? If so, does it work well?** A: I've only used it for nuts, and it works very, very well on those. **Q: Where is this made?** A: Made in China, patent pending **Q: Does this chop the nuts large enough to put in cookies?** A: Even at the coarse setting the nuts are about 1/2 coarse powder and 1/2 tiny pieces. Easy to use and clean. It is a good value for the money and I highly recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works fine but a bit flimsy *by T***T on August 15, 2023* What I Like: The square design of this nut grinder is much better than its round counter part as all six grinding blades are full length. This makes for a more efficient and more consistent grind. It is easy to use on softer nuts like walnuts and pecans. The removeable bottom makes it much easier to clean and remove finished product. The grind, although inconsistant, is better than results in a food processor and far less effort than chopping with a knife. What I don't like: It is not a sturdy when grinding almonds as there is alot of flex in the handle, it takes a good amount of effort, you really need to secure the center of the crank with your thumb while turning a half turn at a time with your fingers otherwise it feels on the verge of breaking apart. The handle is also too short and too flimsy to get proper leverage on hard nuts like almond. Although it does a good job on softer nuts with almonds the entire mechanism flexes and unless I support it as mentioned above it feels like it will break apart. I also saw no difference between course and fine grind. Summary: At $23 this is as good and as sturdy as one can expect. I would pay more for a sturdier version that made it easier to grind almonds but I saw no such option. For the money I'm OK with it and it does give an acceptable grind for nuts used in sundaes, baklava, and to put over cereal.
