This is honestly my number one most favored study Bible, with the Tony Evans one a close second. Both of these, but this one especially, have all sorts of little side articles, notes and features, all presented in a way that is very accessible to new Christians, yet still useful for the more mature Christian who may want to better understand the context of what they’re reading. I know the NLT gets some hate as a translation but I honestly think it works perfectly fine for normal reading and presenting to others. If one were to do an in-depth study, I might recommend something more along the lines of NASB 1995; but for the purposes of what this study Bible is looking to accomplish, the easy-to-read, thought for thought approach of the NLT works just fine. I cannot say enough good things about this volume.

When I was first drawn to salvation I wanted a Bible that I could understand, a translation that just got to the point. Growing up in the church my whole life I had missed Gods word because some folks think it's evil to deviate from certain translations. Years have passed and I still have my original NLT. I graduated from Liberty University with a degree in religion and have since used primarily the NASB or ESV for my deep bible studies. Keyword bibles and concordances, you name it I use in a regular basis. I love studying but I found myself wanting again just a bible I could read and not work at. I love deep bible study but sometimes you just want to sit down and read. I found myself reading the Bible less and less for me and only just when I had to put together a lesson or sermon and thus I finally can talk about this bible. I ordered this bible because I trust the nlt translation. I do not believe in one translation is all you need but sometimes I just want to sit down and enjoy reading Gods word just for fun, not for class or teaching or preaching. This bible gets it done! It has quickly become the go to Bible for my spiritual pick me ups and my personal walk. Quality construction and great notes and side stuff in the Bible along with a great easy to read and accurate translation. Perfect for every man. I still use my other bibles of course but this bible is like the crescent wrench in my spiritual tool box. Need more than one tool to get the job done but all around this bible can do a lot of things. You won't go wrong with this bible, I plan to by several more for my friends and family. Men, It is hard to lead your family, to stay the course no matter your spiritual or educational level. We need the proper tools to keep everything running. I promise this will not be a waste of money. If your like me you will naturally start to see an uprising of joy and desire to get in Gods Word. God Bless!

I haven’t picked up the Bible I had as a kid in ages. I remember reading through it a short while ago and saw how dense it was and in trying to find passages to help me, I found myself having to flip between the internet and the Bible in order to find the right texts I was looking for. A friend of mine recommended this one and it answered my prayers for a Bible that feels tailored to help me with the big questions I’ve had. It has a section at the front of the book with recommended texts that deal with just about every aspect a man goes through in life. Life, love, death, marriage, stress, all of that. It’s helped me find my faith in the texts that guided me as a kid. Not only that, but there’s so much added context at the beginning of each book and footnotes to help explain what’s going on and how it can be applied to you.

Best bible I’ve purchased. It’s easy to read and gives historical context and focuses on topics Men specifically struggle with. All of us have a habitual sin we struggle with and this has got books, chapters, and verses for all of them. If you are a Man wanting to be a better spiritual leader for your family. Read this and take advantage of all the resources it has!
