Finds Identified: Portable Antiquities Scheme

If you are interested in historical artifacts this book is a joy. Superb quality photography and clear informative text a goldmine of information. Really helpful for identifying items in terms of period and actual purpose of the item highly recommended.

The photographs are excellent and accompanied by helpful descriptions. I was lucky enough to get a good as new, used book for a few pounds cheaper, but would have been happy with full price, having had a chance to see the quality. The person who left a one star review does not explain their reasoning, but it's definitely undeserving of that. Ideal for metal detectorists or anyone who finds artifacts our ancestors mislaid fascinating. So happy to own this book.

Very interesting. My son in law has started metal detecting, so I bought this for Christmas. He calls it his Bible. He loves it.

Great book hubby loves it

Great book lots of good photos and information. Through this book I joined the Portable Antiquities Scheme, with info on over 1.6mi,lion artifacts. Pity it was not a bit cheaper.

Wonderful book with lots of colour photos. I like that the artifacts are put together in categories making it easy to identify and get information about finds fast and easy. A must for all metal detectorist and well worth the money. Super fast next day delivery and very well packaged.

Enjoyed the book. Great pictures, and explanations. It's a big, thick beast as well, and feels like a proper book, rather than a flimsy paperback. My only con would be that it's slighlty pricey for what it is.
