Review: Beautiful book. - As always Scott did not disappoint with his writing style. Simple words and conversational. It covered most topics from recommended lenses, lightening, posing to post processing. The title of the books is "The Natural Light Portrait book" so if you are interested in using flash for portraits photography, you will have to check his other book "The flash book. It simplifies technical terms such as the Rembrandt technique with description such as inverted triangle so you grasp the concept easily. There are useful practical tips on how to make a round face look thinner and longer and vice versa, how to narrow a broad nose, how to avoid making the waistline appear wider etc. It is a book you can read in less than a day with time to spare. Highly recommended for beginners and enthusiasts.

WARNING: ADDICTIVE -- This won't be the last Scott Kelby Book you'll buy!
If you are into photography or just mildly interested, do yourself a huge favor and buy this book. Scott Kelby is the #1 author in the world for photography and photo editing. With 60 best seller books under his belt he knows how to do this. He is BY FAR the best educator out there. He is able to distill knowledge to it's core, to it's key ingredients, and deliver it in easy to digest bites! I can't say enough. Well . . . I might add that this book is a JOY to read! He is funny, smart and witty; all knowledge, no snob, no pretenses. WARNING: Don't read in a plane because you'll be laughing your ass off and people will look at you and wonder what the heck you are reading, and you'll have to talk to them and share your book, and they might not give it back. One more thing, after you read this book, you'll want his Landscape book, and my favorite, his flash book, and so many of the other superb books he has written. Don't say I did not warn you!

Scott Kelby is the ultimate Photography teacher
5/5 Rating This is my second Scott Kelby Book along with me being an annual user of Kelby One training website. I've been a subscriber to the site for over 2 years now. This book is a straight forward manual to learning how to shoot in natural light. Personally I enjoy using flash as it provides more contrast in your images. But as a photographer sometimes you have to work with that you got. This book has a lot of the same information as it does in the Flash book from Scott but it does switch up at certain aspects. The strengths of this book are the images and the details behind the shots. For those who are beginners this is an added resource to your collection. If you have been shooting for years what you may learn in this book will be minimal.

A favorite for all Portrait Lovers, from newbies to masters.
Actual systematic coaching from ABC to XYZ without reservation. The author teaches portrait theory supported by his actual shooting demonstration showing relevant techniques and problem solving. The last section of Behind-the-Scene illustration is invaluable. It is almost like a magician disclosing the secret of his magic setup.

A great foundation builder
Scott’s style is simple and to the point. He doesn’t make you a master photographer but he gives you the foundation that you can build on to get there if that’s your goal. I’ve read several of his books and always pick up a basic fact that I didn’t already know. I’ve seen him in workshops also. His following is the average hobbyist which is who this book is geared towards. I also like the way his books are like a bathroom reader, you can spend a few minutes and learn 2 things and come back later and you don’t have to review because those lessons are done.

Great tips for a new photographer
I borrowed from my local library first and after it was due, I realized that I wanted a copy to keep. The tips are great and apply to most situations that you would encounter when doing natural lighting portraits. Lots of examples and very clear instruction.

J'adore les livres de Scott Kelby et celui-ci ne fait pas exception. Prix un peu élevé par rapport au contenu.
