It's perfect. It's difficult to find a cleaning rod in 17 caliber that isn't a flimsy piece of junk. This one is a high quality stiff carbon fiber rod that should last forever

I got this particular size because I figured I could use it with almost any caliber(excluding anything smaller than a .22). Boy was I right, I use it on .22LR, .30-06, 5.56x45mm/.223 Rem., and 7.62x54R (No the R does not stand for Russian for those of you out there that don't know, the cartridge has R at the end because it is a rimmed cartridge, look it up). The rod is very strong and durable. It flexes but not overly, and the handle...oh boy do those bearings in the handle turn smoothly. Stop wasting your money on aluminum, steel, wood, or coated rods and spend just a little more cash and get this rod. This rod is strong, has no joints in the middle to break, won't damage your firearm even if your don't use a boreguide, doesn't embed like coated rods, and it isn't damaged by cleaning solvents or gun oils. Trust me it is well worth it, I don't know how many of the cheaper rods I've broken or bent out of shape simply cleaning a firearm. This rod will last a very long time and serve you well. Oh and if you want a really great cleaning set up, get the Tipton combo cleaning jag and best bore brush set to go with the rod. Talk about awesome!

Cleaning rod works really well and can feel the engagement of when running a brush or jag. Missing cap for the storage tube, had to order one. The 44" is the way to go for cleaning Bergara HMR 6.5 CM with 22" barrel.

High quality product to care properly for my prized firearms.

Highly recommend very sturdy and probably will never have to buy another one. The handles ball bearings feel great.
