So disappointing! After all that work, the robot doesn’t move!
I’ve bought a bunch of these robots from this company and this one is awful! My daughter and I have put together several of them, and this one just doesn’t come together properly. I bought it twice, thinking that we put it together wrong the first time, and it still never worked. Something to do with the small and large gear in the motor, they just never clicked. So buy all the other robots from this company, but not this red dragon. After all that work…..soooooo disappointing..

Doesn’t work! GARBAGE!
GARBAGE!! Doesn’t work! We bought 1 of these as a gift for our son, my husband built it with him, it didn’t work. We called, they sent another and AGAIN doesn’t work! Don’t waste your money on this!!!

Motor Too Weak
This is such a cute set and super fun to assemble with my 7 y/o and 6 y/o. However the motor is too weak for the gears and doesn’t function correctly. The motor works on its own and with one gear connected, but after adding the second gear, it stops working. What a shame because we had so much fun putting this together.

Have built about 15 kits from 4M successfully, but ...
Have built about 15 kits from 4M successfully, but couldn't get this one to work. The gears in the gearbox don't reliably make contact.

Dangerous - hardware defect led to smoking battery
As soon as we put the battery in, while in the off position, it started smoking. The battery had started to melt street just a few seconds. We disassembled the switch housing and saw that the bare red wiring is excessively long and was making contact with the black battery contact, effectively making a short circuit. Good thing I was there to supervise otherwise it could have been very dangerous. We assembled it perfectly correctly.

Aggravation for the Whole Family
Design / material problems make this build-your-own Dragon Robot an exercise in frustration. It is very difficult to get the internal gear pieces to make proper contact. After 3 rebuilds & finally using tape to hold the gear together, the robot did eventually work. This is the second & last time we will try 4M toy products (the other being the hanging solar system, which has parts that absolutely did not fit together & was a total bust).
