The only loss of star for this one is that it's a bit harder to read than my previous one (that has started to come apart). My fussy old partner likes his cold boiled eggs with the yolk still runny and these are pretty accurate. I imagine this as if I can see though into the eggs - the timer changed from red to white from the outside towards the center and I take the eggs out once the only red bit left is about the size of the yolk then plunge them into ice cold water to halt the cooking (this also stops that grey rim forming around the yolk).
