Great Thermometer
We bought it to check the oven temperature and it worked great! It will be used in cooking and baking also. It's very easy to read.

Effective and Easy to Use
Thermometer is easy to use. It is not too heavy and it is NOT flimsy. I also like the blue color in the liquid: it is easier to read than red. I also like that the temperatures start well below 100. I use this a lot for making bread, and I need to know if something is in the 80s or 90s which I can easily tell with this thermometer. My other thermometer started at 100 so I had to estimate. I would recommend this to anyone needing this type of thermometer.

Horrible!
The clip is so tight that if your pan is curved at all it won't touch the bottom of the pot which effects the thermometer reading. If you're making small batches, which many people do, then the thermometer portion won't be deep enough what you're making to read properly. This is meant for large batches of whatever confection you're making. This is huge and unwieldy. Complete waste of money.

Accurate! Excellent! And can track lower chocolate temperatures!
Product arrived intact and working (unlike the 1st one I bought from another now bankrupt retailer who shipped it a soft padded BENDABLE envelop and the unit arrived with the glass broken through in multiple places). Amz shipped in a nice normal cardbox with packing etc and arrived in perfect shape First thing I did was boil water in my double boiler. I live @ ~ sea level in Los Angeles. Steady boiling water should be 100 C. Perfecto! See pix. I took the pix vertical but shows up horizontal (even if I rotate original and reload, it's still == instead of || ) This thermometer also tracks temps down to 20 C which is chocolate melting temps. And now, if you'll excuse me, I have Belgian style dark chocolate truffles to make :-)

Not Sure of Accuracy
I used it to make fudge and I over boiled my candy because it did not reach the correct temperature by this thermometer. I know it was way past the soft ball stage because my fudge was very crumbly, a sign of over boiling it

Faulty, not worth it
This thermometer doesn't read the correct temperature and is prone to scorching because of it. Do not buy.
