Okay, you won't have to worry about snags - the hoods do cover the clip, but they're1) made of hard plastic and definitely not pliable, so one has to work your fingernail or flathead screw driver between the small gap between the hood and the plug to actually disconnect the cable2) the "hood" is part of the plug! so there's no way to back off the hood to get to the clip or to actually connect the plug into recessed ports. AND since my patch panel's ports are recessed, I had to pull out my utility knife to shave off the hood.I did get them to work with a little modification to one end of the cables and the ports on my switch were flush, so the plastic turtle shell of a hood didn't impede connection, so all is well. Would I get these again... NO.
