Queen - Greatest Video Hits 2

My Expectations for the collection were based on the VHS release of 1991 called GREATEST FLIX II. Fans going back to the 70's will, I suggest , enjoy this collection. The disc 1, has 17 tracks, mostly the same as Greatest Flix 2, but 4 tracks different. I suspect they will hold the four tracks over to Greatest Hits 3. The track listing is covered in other reviews.Please note that, as I have found, if you have a slightly older DVD player, or a PC with older, or "incompatible" decoder software, you will get a video stutter, that does not affect the audio, which is, in 5.1, truly Magnificent, but the stutter is an indicator of a faulty "codec". I think Brian and Rogers supervision may have had a hand in this quality control in the audio, and the videos, where you get to see the video from start to finish( unlike the "Do-Ro" edits that chopped start and finish in most tracks. The commentary by Brian and Roger is only slightly enlightening, and whilst Brian is mostly more upbeat, Roger has a distinctly cynical tone, but still enjoyable; I just wished they had talked more, instead of keeping to a minimalist tone. Disc 2 is a great revalation for fans with the VHS tapes. You will see where some of the rare quick cuts in the VHS tapes actually come from. The inteviews are truly classic, and a pleasure to have. For the most part it is a behind the scenes look, but overall it is just great. I still hope that the VHS tape material gets converted to DVD, and I especially hope that the 1976 live concert in Hyde park gets "rediscovered"; its a pleasure to see and listen in carefully created 5.1 such excellent material.

These videos were created at the height of the MTV generation. The production quality is absolutely fabulous (okay, it doesn't have the naked women like Bicycle Race). If you grew up in the MTV generation, you will appreciate the videos. Some of Queen's best music came out during this time - Hammer to Fall, Under Pressure, I Want to Break Free, One Vision, Radio Ga Ga, and the songs that were used for Highlander. The only dark spot of this DVD set is the Hot Space videos (less Under Pressure). There are lots of extras and interviews that are very insightful and interesting, including the famous "Freddie Mercury Interview."

Definitely lovely collection, Best choice to remind old memorias...

I truly was very happy with this purchase. I was worried because I have never heard of the company selling it to me, but it was at my front step a day early of the predicted timeline. They did not sell this in the Best Buy near where I lived and I am glad I didn't buy it because it was cheaper on Amazon.com. I would recommend this DVD to whoever likes the music group Queen. I also enjoyed the second DVD with bonus features on it. The only thing i wished i knew was all the songs included. Here they are : A kind of magic, I want it all, Radio GA GA, I want to break free, Breakthru, Under pressure, Scandal, who wants to live forever, the miracle, it's a hard life, the invisible man, Las Palabras de Amor, Friends will be friends, Body language, Hammer to fall, Princes if the universe, and one vision.I hope this review helps whoever read this and overall i think it was a fan-tabulous DVD.

Queen broke all music barriers in the use of electronic equipment and unique sound before any other band. The closest band to even come close to Queen would be Rush or Peter Frampton. For Queen Fans young and old this is a must have DVD. Very great quality and sound, and dubbing can't be matched. Freddie Mercury's voice can;t be matched and with Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon's voices combined is remarkable. It was a blessing that all four members met though were part of different groups. Freddie will be surly missed. Long Live QUEEN!!!

The videos alone would have made a great package, but the bonus DVD makes it especially worthy of being in your video library. Among other things, you get to go inside the studio to see Queen recording their classic song "One Vision", as well as previously unseen videos, live footage and archived interviews with all four original band members. This DVD compilation is a true testament to what a phenomenal band Queen was, and how their music will live on for generations to come.

This is by and large yet another outstanding Queen product. This covers the Eighties portion of their career and I am sorry to say it shows. I was aghast at how dated many of this videos are! The worst offendors are Invisible Man, A Kind of Magic, and anything associated with Hot Space. The extras were fun, though the Montreux performance is horrid! I really enjoyed the Munich Freddie interview in its entirety. Sure, much of this has been seen before but not on dvd. Video highlights are "Who Want to Live Forever," the hilarious "I Want to Break Free," and my hidden gem, "Scandal." The defiance and sensuality displayed by Freddie in this one is incredible. All hardcore Queen fans need this DVD! Now it's time for the Innuendo material, the Night at the Opera 30th anniversary dvd, and (please?!) Live at the Rainbow 1974!

Se fosse stato soltanto un DVD sarebbe stato un prodotto ben al di sotto della sufficienza. Vengono mostrati i video dei Queen partendo dall'82 per arrivare fino all'89 con The Miracle, oltre tutto messi lì a caso senza un ordine ben preciso. Ma è nel secondo DVD che sono presenti delle vere chicche inedite, personalmente mai viste. Si parla di ogni tour e si inizia dall'Hot Space Tour per poi passare al The Works Tour, Magic Tour e making of The Miracle Album. Spezzoni di concerti della band, partecipazioni a televisioni private per pubblicizzare gli album, interviste integre a tutti i componenti della band, il dietro le quinte di tantissimi video musicali, la realizzazione della copertina dell'album The Miracle con relativa intervista al grafico che la realizzò e tantissime altre chicche veramente interessanti che ogni appassionato dei Queen dovrebbe avere. Fidatevi è veramente un DVD interessante.

Auch die zweite DVD von Queen kann ich unbedingt allen Fans von Freddie Mercury und den anderen Bandmitgliedern empfehlen. Queen hat eine Ausstrahlung und eine derart hohe musikalische Kompetenz, wie sie meiner Meinung nach heute kaum noch erreicht wird. Alle Songs dieser Greatest Video Hits sind großes Kino.

Als Fan von Queen ein absolutes MUSS! Tolle Videos, tolle Musik, eben Queen!
