Awesome little tool
I got this because I'm putting in tile and I was having trouble getting the square drive screws to set properly in the backer board using my standard drill/driver. I fired this up and the screws went in so quick I had to be careful to not run them completely through the board. It was so much quicker and I didn't strip a single screw (I was averaging 1 of 5 stripped with the standard drill/driver using the same bit). I'm not just waxing effusive for no reason, this really made a difference when driving square drive screws and phillips screws and 2 and 1/2 inch lag bolts. I'm actually looking for things to drive in with this tool. The compact size is misleading as to the power the impact creates in driving screws/bolts, etc. Probably the most effective tool I own, except for maybe the recip saw. Only negative I've noticed so far is this drill eats batteries. If they won't hold a full charge, or aren't fully charged, it'll wear them out quick. Fully charged batteries last for 100 or so screws. A year later, still one of my favorite tools. The only reason it's not my absolute favorite is that I own a couple of Paslode cordless nailers. After using the pneumatic nailers, the cordless is so convenient and simple to use, it blows any others away. Still, this little bugger is a tough, hard-working bruiser of a tool. I've dropped it from 6 feet and dropped stuff on it and it still works great. You pull this out on a worksite and the other guys laugh at it because it looks like a toy, but start running 8 inch long 1/2 inch lag bolts into 100 year old wood without pre-drilling, they start asking questions like where can I get one of those. Impressive, powerful, fits into tight spaces, small enough your kids can use.

my other tools feel neglected now that i own this bad ma'amajama.
i grew up on construction sites and i have a shopping problem when it comes to tools. i can't believe it took me this long to add this to my collection. i've only had it a few weeks and it's more than earned it's keep so far. I'll list a pro/con. PROs: no more stripping heads of screws, short and fits in places drills will not, insane power for being a small cordless tool, impact tool so it will drive when drills & screwdrivers can't, variable speed trigger (torque drops and speed raises), can replace drill and cordless screwdrivers, so many bits available that you can do an amazing amount of work with this thing, it's small so it is super easy to carry on you. CONs: it's almost perfect so this is hard...if i could change one thing, i would like an adjustable torque so that the speed wasn't tied inversely to the torque. when you want to slow down to get a screw set just right, that jacks up the torque and you might set it a little lower than you would like. you won't strip screw heads but you can easily strip the material the screw is going into. this thing is so powerful you start thinking it can replace your impact wrench. that will work on small stuff but don't expect this tiny cordless tool to do the job of a good 1/2" plug-in impact wrench.

Great Tool - Go Screw Something
I couldn't be happier with this DeWalt Impact Driver DC825B, got the bare tool as I have lots of unused cases littering the garage, and quite a few batteries from all the other DeWalt Cordless Tools I have acquired over the years. I was impressed from the very first screws that I drove with this tool, 4" square drive deck screws into a tough old gnarly 4x4, it has plenty of power and the screws just disappeared into the wood with a constant speed with no bogging down. Also it has an LED to illuminate the work area if you use it in a low light situation, a very nice addition. It is compact, lightweight, and has a comfortable grip all important factors for extended use. I would recommend this tool to anyone who drives a lot of screws. This is not a one tool does all tool as it does not have an adjustable chuck like the cordless drills but a quick disconnect speed load chuck this is a thing to keep in mind if you can only afford one tool this is not for you, but on the other hand, if you want the best tool for the job and that is stuffing long screws into hard wood, go for this little beauty you will not be sorry.

Lots of power in a small package
Small and lightweight, but a very useful tool. The tool fits in tight spaces very well. Lots of torque and power for driving screws, drilling, installing/removing fasteners, etc. It even does the lug nuts on my vehicles which my air impact muddles through. The LED light is also plenty bright enough to see in very dark places. I recommend this tool as often as I can. It is one of the first tools out of the toolbox when I start in the morning. Update: I have had this tool a few months, now. I use it almost daily, and it stands up to the test. Still one of my favorites. DeWalt industrial grade tool for under $80 equals a no-brainer in my opinion. Update number 2: 6-1/2 years later and itโs still one of my favorite tools. Has never given me one single problem. Excellent quality.

Why Why Why didn't I buy one before, I had the drill/driver right angled one and the standard drill. Great 18v tools I have used for 10+ years that are going strong, always wondered why I needed this... until I treated myself Brilliant, so good at removing those stubborn rusted screws in the garden etc as the hammer breaks the seal/rust lock prior to the screw ripping up When using on new kit, again the fixed tork prevents anything tearing up fixings

This was a replacement for one I had for twelve years. The trigger finally gave up. I have remodeled three houses and had many other projects. This is one of my favourite tools. Great Product.
