Scotch Sure Start Packing Tape, Clear, 1.88 in. x 54.6 yd., 8 Tape Rolls

This particular model of Scotch packing tape is of noticeably higher quality than ordinary packing tape that most are familiar with. The most noticeable trait unique to this particular model of packing tape is its thickness; it feels ~2-3x thicker than standard packing tape. This trait resists lengthwise tears and mitigates the ‘cling’ effect caused by static electricity, making individual strips much easier to work with. Additionally, the tape peels off the roll in a much smoother and more consistent manner. The adhesive contains virtually no impurities relative to ordinary packing tape, resulting in an incredible transparency. This will be the only packing tape I use from here forward due to the aforementioned improvements. I highly recommend it!

Sticky and does the job. It also says that it’s quiet and I thought that was interesting because I never had tape scream at me before but when I used it, I’m like holy crap. It doesn’t do that sticky tape sound you know the sticky tape sound? It doesn’t do that. It is super quiet!

The adhesive does not seem very strong. You have to press it down to get it to stick, but it didn't seem to come loose once firmly applied. Not sure how it will hold up through shipping, but I'm not losing sleep over what happens after I drop it off. The flip side is it did not get all tangled and stuck to itself so it was easier to work with.

What can I say, it's packing tape. However, it is much easier to start than standard tape. It doesn't stick to itself in the tape gun. However, it closes packages securely.

Despite this ample length, I've gone through several rolls due to the sheer volume of items I had to pack, suggesting the tape could perhaps be made a tad thicker for durability. In conclusion, despite a minor issue with tearing, the Scotch Sure Start Packing Tape earns a solid four stars. It's an item I will be keeping on hand for everyday use, not just for moving. The peace it provides with its quiet unwind, ease of starting, and secure adhesion is worth the purchase.

This tape I bought because I ran out of my discount variety packaging tape. And thought hmm I wonder what could be the difference between that and this. That one had about the same amount of length as this, so figured it would be discernible. Nope. Not even close! The quality of this is immediate! The other one would rip when I tried to open it and leave those long annoying breakages where the tape became unusuable and you lost maybe half a foot of tape because of the diagonal ripping. This tape is STURDY FIRM and yet applicable for so variety of uses! I've used it on everything. Tape here; tape there; tape everywhere lol And it's relatively the same price as the other one, but this one just feels so much better and performs way better. No longer breaks in the tape when cutting. Nice even cuts all the time. And when it does blend in with the tape, I can find the seam and no ripping?! That alone has made me fall in love. Once you try this, you'll never go back to those discount variety versions of tapes. Like I said, I didn't know I could love tape?!
