I had heard about Souldier straps - made in Chicago, USA - but they always seemed a little pricey. I found this plain orange (my favorite color) at a reasonable price, so I bought it. I like the plain orange, but I wanted to customize it to give my strap more personality. I tried a few ideas, then settled on using fabric paint to create white stripes. I used masking tape as the resist to block the fabric paint. After it dried, I sanded it down very lightly to knock off the bumps. I ironed the belt to help set the paint using a plain white cover cloth.
