I currently use a toaster oven and a very old oven (with no window) to cook most of my meals. Unfortunately they both seem to have fickle ideas of what temperature to run at, and so whether or not I am able to keep my chicken moist has been mostly up to luck instead of time. That is, until I got the Comfyer meat thermometer.This thing is pretty small and thankfully inoffensive. I've seen some meat thermometers that look garish, bright, and too eye-catching. I liked this because it looked like it would fit in my kitchen without drawing attention to itself, and it does that perfectly. Additionally it has a magnetized base which can adhere to my toaster oven or my conventional oven's metal surfaces which is nice. There was also a metal plate in the box with some 3M-type tape on the back which wasn't included in the description, but would allow me to stick the magnet on a surface that isn't metal which is a nice touch. I would have liked it if the actual unit itself were magnetic, but since the unit adheres to the base and the base has a strong magnet I don't mind much.The actual unit works great. It's easy to set your desired temperature or timer and it's easy to understand at-a-glance what the current temperature is. There aren't a bunch of submenus or screens to go through, just giant readable font right on the front of the unit. One thing I found slightly annoying is that when your desired temperature is reached, the unit will repeatedly set itself off unless you adjust the target temp higher or turn the unit off entirely. This unit also has bluetooth capability and there's an app you can download, however I was more interested in a simple meat thermometer with non-wireless probes so I didn't pay much attention to the app. I will say that I had some problems with the app crashing, and not notifying me when my meat was done. The unit itself did notify me but the app did not, I assume this is because I set the temperature on the unit and not on the app. One thing I did love about the app is that it provided me with an estimate for when my meat would reach my desired temperature. I didn't know this was a feature before buying and I LOVE that it does this - it helps me understand approximately how much time I have remaining. Overall the app was easy to navigate, had some useful features like pre-programmed meat temperatures, and seemed good... so it's possible my experiences were flukes. Again I wasn't too focused on the app so I didn't pay much attention to it.Overall this met my needs and expectations. It's an unassuming meat thermometer that won't attract attention like some of the bright colored ones out there, and it works quickly and efficiently. Now I'm able to cook my chicken to temperature which keeps it moist and tender, instead of overcooking it and drying it out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice thermometer that you don't have to manually insert to check each time. *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2019* When you first open it a QR code is provided to download the app to integrate right to your phone or you can read directly from the unit. It's easy to read and switch between Celsius or Fahrenheit. The probes have held up just fine over the last several months. I have used it in the toaster oven and the oven. It has excelled in both. I've only used it for chicken and I can much more accurately keep it juicy. My old manual one where I have to keep checking it, I often miss the sweet spot and end up beginning the dry out overcooking process. Great and handy tool for the kitchen for making juicy chicken. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Features for the Price *by N***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2018* I was looking for an affordable wireless thermometer that can easily be moved between indoor (oven) and outdoor (pellet smoker) cooking and have been very happy with this product. As soon as I received it, I immediately did an ice bath test to check for accuracy and it passed without issue (verified with my instant read Thermapen Mk IV). I then paired the device with my phone (Android) using their app and have had no significant issues. I get occasional disconnects if I take my phone too far away, but it reconnects when back in range. To use the app, you simply click on the device and then choose the item you're cooking (i.e. beef, turkey, fish, etc.) and the desired doneness. You're able to set custom temperatures if you'd like, and the app stores the history of previous cooks (not sure how far back or how many, but so far all my cooks are still listed).Since ordering, I used the thermometer several times for a mix of indoor & outdoor cooking. For Thanksgiving, I was able to test it with a turkey on my smoker. My smoker has its own probe so I had something to compare to, and both probes were very close enough in temperature that I can account any variance to the food itself. I've used it indoors on shorter cooks such as a pork shoulder steak and lamb chops. Moving between the two locations is simple, and the thermometer came with magnets that have adhesives if you need to fix the base somewhere.Overall I was impressed by the quality of the thermometer for the price. There's some features I'd like to see such as the ability to export the data or add additional probes, but I wouldn't expect those features in this range. The two probes it supports (and includes) are sufficient for oven use, and since my smoker (where I'd likely want the additional ones) already has its own pair of probes, it's not a major issue for me.
