Step into the world of Avalon and see what it has to say.
This is one of my most favorite deck of cards that I own as of writing this! The cards are stunning the energy is perfect and the messages that they relay are just right at the right time. These cards are larger than the average Tarot card deck and can be a pain to shuffle if you want to shuffle them like a normal deck of cards. They are also lined with gold on the sides which just give them a little something. Within the deck there are four kinds of cards, there are The sacred journey markers, The animal guides of Avalon Markers, The guides of Faery, and the messengers of Avalon cards. Combined I find that these cards really open your eyes in readings, they have so much with in them that it's a gift. The imagery is spot on it's not symbolic like you find in other cards I also wouldn't call them all in the light some of them can be in the dark if you want to say that. Some of the cars have key words to help you with your reading as well and them some like the journey cards just have the name of the card, ie: Birth-rebirth or perception. What I also like about this deck is you can combine it with Colette's Wisdom of the Hidden Realms card as well and get an even deeper reading and answer. And unlike other Oracle cards and inverted card can have a meaning as well. I also love that she has a video that you can watch on using her cards and combining the decks as well. As someone who loves and studies the spiritual side of Avalon I find the symbology a great blend of the Arthurian symbolism as well as the spiritual symbolism of Avalon. I find that those that want an Avalon reading will truly enjoy these cards as well as the messages that they give you. The guide book is a great starting off point offering steps on one, three and five card readings (basic readings) but don't be afraid to step out of that box and play with the cards they will tell you what you need to know for your higher good. This is a great deck. If you love Avalon you will love it I feel.

Gorgeous artwork, easy to work with oracle cards
I ordered these oracle cards about two months ago and have been reading them since. This is my first time working with oracle cards, and have been delighted with the Wisdom of Avalon since day 1. The cards are big, probably the size of your hand, and have gilded edges. They're also built with good card stock, making them sturdy enough that you know they'll last a while. They're divided into three sections: the messengers of Avalon, the animal guides of Avalon, and the sacred journey markers. The artwork is breathtaking. You can tell they were all hand-painted with care and you can gather a lot of information from just looking at the art. If figuring out the art is hard (and there are some cards from which gaining knowledge is a little harder), the cards have keywords at the top. They also have a number, which you can cross-reference with the book it brings, which gives detailed descriptions of the meanings of each card. No, the sacred journey markers are not the same. Not even the artwork is the same. They're all images in a forest, in different places, with different portrayals. Even the ones that show a path and trees have different colored trees, different things happening with the path, different lighting. You can associate what's happening in the card with the word. Frankly, these are some of my favorite cards to see in a reading. I highly recommend this deck to any expert or beginner who likes oracle cards. The messages, even the ones that talk about negative things, like Disruption, for example, are given in a positive light. I find this deck to be gentle, but to the point, and sort of soothing. There's something ethereal to it. I'm glad I picked this oracle deck to start with!

Excellent Oracle Deck
The 52-card deck has four categories (or suits) of cards: the messengers, the animal guides, the guides of faery, and the sacred journey markers. These cover many aspects for a good reading. The beautiful artwork allows for intuition to flow and the the guidebook provides guidance for 1, 3, or 5 card readings. Each description in the guidebook is short but gets to the point with spot-on messages. I appreciate a few keywords are on each card which aids in getting familiar with the cards. I keep coming back to this deck time and again and feel I get truly insightful messages.

The Divination of Avalon Oracle Cards
These cards are wonderful to have, and are very accurate. If you are the type of person that is open to psychic abilities and intuition, then these are definitely your cards. Colette Baron Reid really did a fantastic job with how she assembled the different elements together on the card. I also appreciate how diverse the cards are. No matter what background you come from, you have a sense that the cards apply to you. An example of the diversity that was beautifully displayed: The Earth Faery, The Fire Faery, The Merlin, The Queen, The King, and The Lady of the Lake. These cards are just a sample of the beautiful cards that are available with this deck. Many times you have questions that demand the attention of answers, but they can only be answered with going inside yourself rather than consulting others. These cards are a good spiritual medium for such a situation. You definitely get your moneys worth with these cards.

A Magical Deck
Was it just "coincidence" that led me to the work and wisdom of Colette Baron Reid? I "happened" upon the newest of her oracle decks, The Map, while browsing in a book store, went on to look at other things and by the time I got home I was only able to search Amazon with part of her name, but then I was led to this, most amazing deck! I read and loved and never forgot _The Mists of Avalon_ back in 1984, I think it was -- and here is this wonderful oracle deck -- but still, being a Tarot reader, I have my hesitations with oracle decks as they can have their limitations, but Colette has designed an oracle deck with parts (in other words, not just cards that go 1 to 52,) but have sections starting with The Messengers of Avalon; The Merlin, The High Priestess, etc, then 18 Animal Guides of Avalon, the the 5 Guides of Faery, then the 20 Sacred Journey Markers. This makes for a thorough reading, with flexible symbolic communication possible in a way a lot of oracle decks lack. This, coupled with my fascination with all things Celtic, and the Avalon myths make this a wonderful spiritual tool. I got one for myself and one for a friend as a gift at Winter Solstice. I am so happy to have found Colette Baron Reid, a wonderful light in these difficult times.

Beautiful Cards, Great Deck, Stuck Like Glue!
I used these cards during a reading I had and loved them. I decided to buy my own set and I had to send back the first ones, because the cards were stuck together like glue and when I tried to pry them apart, all the colors from the front/back of the cards came off onto each other. My second set came today and they were stuck together also, but not as much. I found that if you bend them a bit and then slowly separate them, some of the colors around the edges will come off onto each other, but not the from the main artwork. I will keep this deck, even though they are no longer perfect, because I simply don't want to send yet another deck back knowing the next deck will most likely be the same. The artwork is beautiful and from using them in a previous reading, I know they are wonderful cards. Buyer beware, if you purchase them, the cards will come stuck together resulting in the loss of some of the artwork.

Love this deck!
I absolutely love this deck. It’s all about big messages, fae, the elements, and animal wisdom. The cards do not stick together which is a plus. The artwork is beautiful and looks like watercolor.

Great Little Set
I have noticed a lot of reviews referencing the fact that some of the cards are just forest or field scenes. While that it true, it doesn't at all detract from the value of these cards. If you are merely looking for pretty cards with nothing else, go to Hallmark and take your pick. However, if you are interested in purchasing a set of Oracle Cards for divinitory purposes, I highly recommend this deck. The accompanying book is brief, but always on point. There are no verbose diatribes or ego-indulging soliloquies that are so often found in the books accompanying this types of deck. It is not overly flowery. It is a simple deck that is fantastic for single card pulls as well as a more full reading. I collect both tarot and oracle decks. This deck has become the one I carry in my purse at all times. It may not be the fanciest deck, but for the price, you couldn't really ask for more. I highly recommend it.
