Outdoor Omnidirectional FM Antenna

A little expensive but works well where poor FM siginal

Even though I already receive all the FM Channels clearly from Trivandrum where I live, I decided to try this antenna to test whether I can receive FM channels from Nagercoil and Tirunelveli which are about 60 and 100 miles away from Trivandrum respectively. Normally I cannot hear the FM stations from there now. Assembling and installation of this antenna is simple. I used a coaxial cable to connect this antenna to my Sangean WR11 radio. I fixed the antenna at a height of five meters on top of my double storied building. When I tuned my radio I could hear with crystal clarity three FM stations from the above places. This is a wonderful antenna. Now I enjoy Tamil programs with the help of this antenna with the same clarity of my local stations. I strongly recommend this antenna to everyone who loves to hear distant FM stations. This antenna is not intended for Dxing purpose. FM signals travel in straight line and enter the atmosphere after travelling a maximum of 80 kms due to the curve of the Earth. This remains the same even though the power of the transmitter is increased to maximum. Distant stations can be captured to some extend if the height of the antenna is increased. But this is not advisable because the possibility of lightning strike is there. FM Dxing is a false concept when compared to AM or SW stations .

Perfect and powerful radio antennas

Installed at 20 feet height and connected via a coaxial cable To my CREEK tuner. I wa getting nothing before; now I can get all seven stations from kochi, around 40 kilometers away with 70% clarity. There are a lot of Tall trees blocking the antenna. If I can increase the height the reception will be better, but the threat of lightning is there

To FM DXing purpose I ordered this antenna as it's claimed to be high gain antenna but couldn't found it to serve my purpose. I did installed above my building (approx. 75 ft. high from the ground level with no nearby obstruction) to catch the long distance FM station but couldn't work as expected. So now it's no use of this kind of antenna for DXing purpose so I switched over to my existing DIY Cubical Quad Antenna and it works quite well. So I wouldn't recommend it to use it for DXing FM signal.

Una muy buena antena tiene muy buena recepción en las estaciones FM y HD dice que es omnidireccional pero se le saca mejor provecho armarla tipo S así tiene mejor recepción con un divisor conecte también la tv y se ven todos los canales TDT de mi ciudad cabe mencionar que es muy fácil armarla y si la armamos en tipo S también es fácil y así sacarle el mejor provecho en punto final es una buena antena

Even in a very low lying area, best FM antenna so far!

This antenna works great. These days there is a lack of effort by manufacturers of audio equipment to build good quality FM receivers because everyone streams music or mp3's but a few of us still like listening to the good old radio. This antenna makes the lackluster receivers (and transmitters too) perform like things did in the old days. I have this mounted about 20 feet above the ground and feeding a Sony receiver amplifier and it lets me hear the stations I like. Do not forget to add some lighting protecting to this if you are putting it up above a structure! It's cheap and easy and prevents you from getting things inside your house that you want kept outside your house!!! Just search for an F-type lightening arrestor here on Amazon and make sure it has a good ground connection and that's all you need.

I read the previous reviews about the installation, but did not fully understand until you see the product. When you receive it, the screws at the bottom should be installed prior to hooking up the top edge to the plastic hook. Otherwise you will have a hard time getting the screws to fit. You should also note that the antenna jack is a female F type screw in socket. For the installation location, the antenna is sensitive to multipath interference, so it is best to site it away from metallic structures and power lines, as these may add noise to the signal. The antenna is directional, so being able to turn it to your preferred station is a plus. I installed it on a pole then shifted it until the noise was reduced. As I mostly listen to classical which has quiet passages, low noise is important to me. Once setup ideally, the sound was fantastic, with a big soundstage and great dynamic contrast. If the fit were perfect, this would be a 5 star product.
