Auto switching depending on which item you have on, but can get a little cofused if you have several items on at once, however the manual switch over-comes this. A remote would have been nice but this would only add to the price and at this price its very good value. Time will tell how long it lasts but so far a cracking bit of kit that has solved my dire 2 x HDMI input's on my TV. Thanks.Update - well the original just stopped working, then the second would not work then the third has some kind of electrical fault. Excellent customer services by the company. Got a full refund in the end. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost Perfect *by M***D on 8 July 2012* I love this little switch. It works just fine when switching between my dvd player & cable decoder. It switches automatically. However if my dvd player is switched off from the main, and I switch on the mains, it automatically switches to the dvd player, but without sound. The sound works after manually switching back to the dvd player, or any time I switch on/off the power button afterwards, as long as it's still powered on from the mains.The blue light is good in showing which port (device) is selected. However it is very bright and can be distracting, especially if you're someone who likes to watch the telly with the power off.With all the cables it does look messy. A bit difficult to hide them. Still trying to sort that out.Overall, I would definitely recommend this switch to anyone who's looking for one. The downsides are very minuscule and can be overlooked.
