Great for beginners
I have been djing for a couple years now. I have other controllers that I use but this is what I teach people on. The djuced software is easy to use and Hercules even has videos for beginner dj lessons. Hercules has packs of music every month they hand out for free to use and even set the cues for you to learn different transitions. It's honestly an amazing product that will allow you to learn fast to become a DJ yourself. If you are a beginner dj looking for a place to start this will take care of you. It's good enough to play clubs and record your own mixes

Good controller at a reasonable price great for beginners
As an entry-level DJ controller this is a very good one and it is reasonably priced for all the features you get. It is lightweight easy to use seems sturdy enough for a beginner and has all the features you would want in a standard deck the turn tables are easy to use touch sensitive the jog wheel is easy to use and very accurate. The indicator lights that show you if you’re slow or fast or very helpful when you’re learning to beat match. It is a two channel mixer deck but you can control for decks with this controller the effects are not bad the The software that comes with the controller DJ juice is very good and lots of fun to use if you’re a beginner I highly recommend this controller if you’re an intermediate also look at the 500 it is also very very good for the price.

Cost-Performance gear for beginners
At least for me, this is the best controller you can start with, it has the 16 pads (8 on each deck) the volume mixers, eq knobs, filter knob, etc... I was going to return it because i don't have enough time to play with it but i decided to keep it because i ended up liking it after i played for a college event. It has all the necessary functions to mix and play. Also, is around the 100 budget, so is accessible on a tight budget i'd say. Because this is my first dj controller, and my Dj knowledge is poor, this might not be the best review. My only concern was not having the mic input to do talk-over but that is asking too much for a beginner controller. Anyways, i recommend this controller

A little sensitive and a little not
I'm a total beginner (really only got it to mix tracks for personal projects) and got this controller after reading some other reviews. It works and does what it needs to; I was able to figure out what everything does (with a little help from Youtube). One annoying thing though is that it doesn't hook up to my computer properly and automatically. Each time I turn my computer on, I have to 'refresh' it per se, by removing it as a device then replugging it in for DJuced to recognize it. Only tried a few times so far but it's happened every time; we'll see how it is from here. My only complaints about the controller physically would be how sensitive the tempo slider is and how stiff the buttons are. I'm not sure what the norm is since this is my first controller ever, but it feels like I need to press really hard on the buttons for them to work. The tempo slider, on the other hand, budges if I even nudge it just a bit with my sleeve; there's no resistance whatsoever on any of the sliders frankly, which makes a smooth transition hard for me since I have a kind of shaky hand.

Works with Mixxx
I bought this because I like to use Mixxx for DJing since it's open source software and multi-platform. Mixxx advertises the Inpulse 300 as natively compatible, and I can confirm that is correct. I don't think you get 100% of this thing's features available in Mixxx, compared to the DJUCED software. But that's fine for me - all the important controls work out of the box. It is still somewhat of a "beginner" DJ controller but much better than the Inpulse 200. The most noticeable thing about this unit is that it's physically larger than I expected, having previously used a Numark Party Mix controller (which incidentally isn't fully supported by Mixxx). This is definitely something worth learning on and you won't feel instantly limited. Overall a worthwhile buy.

Good for practicing
Not a bad buy

Meh
It is an ok entry-level controller, but if you want to get serious about djing then I would get the ddj-400. The impulse 300 pales in comparison to other entry-level controllers. Also, the fx section is super glitchy and sometimes in the middle of the mix, it will just stop working.

Absolutely Amazing!
This controller is absolutely necessary for any dj'ing on a computer, gives a ton of feedback and easy to understand! The only annoying thing I find about the board is the inability to shift into the second audio mixing when a track is synced to a beat. But other than that, it's allowed for some sick transitions and pretty cool audio glitches you can do to customize a track. I love it, and it's since replaced my two standalone Numark M1 cd players.
