The texture of the paper is perfect for both pencils & pens, its smoothness also makes holding the paper very nice. The grid that's printed is absolutely top notch. With the exact same amount of squares & white space margin on every single page along with a title space. This consistency makes journaling especially easy because you can know that whatever page it is, it'll have the same size & spacing as any other page, allowing for more consistent formatting. The build of the notebook is excellent, with a thick plastic covering that means even after getting rubbed by pavement, the notebook will still have a durable front cover to protect the notebook.
