Perfect Delicious Coffee Brew
We purchased this model after enjoying our previous Technivorm model for many years, which was the same 60 oz size. I originally saw it years ago, demonstrated on America’s Test Kitchen. Our previous Technivorm model had a glass carafe, this has the thermal carafe, which is excellent. It brews a consistent, excellent brew. I said it before, in my original review, and I will say it again, this is the best coffee maker I have ever owned. I like that you can see the reservoir to clean it. Before I purchased Technivorm, my older coffee machines were always difficult to clean, especially the reservoir, and they didn’t last very long. This model is the perfect size for us as we each enjoy drinking two large coffee mugs in the morning. Our coffee mugs are about 15 ounces, so perfect for 4 large mug size servings created with one delicious pot of coffee. This model makes the perfect brew using the water as marked by the water line on the reservoir and I grind my coffee beans with a burr grinder to approximately a medium grind. I use the paper appropriate size liners, the Bunn 12 cup commercial, fit perfectly. I have never had any issues with spilling, over flowing, or clogging with my choices, just perfect coffee. We have an RO water filter and it is recommended to not use RO water due to copper heat coil damage that can occur with the Technivorm. I use the mineral mixture that I had previously read about, add it to water, and it also improves flavor! The result is the most perfect coffee that we have enjoyed for many years! Thanks to Technivorm Moccamaster!

Yes. Yes. Yes. Level 10 Coffee Maker
We bought the Technivorm Moccamaster 39340 CDT Grand about 3 months ago, and it is fantastic. First let me say that we did have a small problem with coffee slightly dripping down the carafe while brewing but, Technivorm replaced the carafe immediately without question. Problem solved, and now I know that they have first rate customer service too! The coffee that this machine makes is unbelievably good. So good that I had to force myself to stop drinking it constantly all day. It makes the best coffee ever made in my house by far. I buy good quality whole beans and grind them before brewing, my wife buys the cheapest coffee that she can find and mixes regular and decaf for a pot in the morning and I can say for sure that even the cheap coffee tastes good. Far better than our previous Bunn made. The whole bean coffee that I make is out of this world in my opinion. So I can confirm, at least in my opinion, that the brewing theory about water temp and dripping the water all over the grounds to bloom them to get a better taste is real. I've pulled the top up from the basket while brewing and you can see the grind blooming as the water is showered all over them. From an aesthetic perspective I will say that if you are in the U.S. like I am, the design of it is different from what we are used to. We are typically used to makers bolted together in one box shape. The Moccamasters look more like an experimental chemistry set. But once again I think the design has value. Most of the parts can be removed by hand: The bottom the carafe sits on, the brew basket, the wand that the coffee travels though to drip into the basket, etc. So If anything breaks you can easily replace them by hand without tools. I've looked on their website and those parts are available at reasonable prices. And it is sturdier than it looks. Finally, it is fun to watch. Water bubbles up a clear tube inside the water housing, travels across the inside of the wand and drips visibly into the top of the basket which showers the grounds. And the open design makes the house smell great while brewing. In summary: - Makes the best coffee that I've ever made at home, easily as good as or better than a coffee shop. - Easy to use. One button and simple to load and remove the basket. - Carafe keeps the coffee warm for hours (about the same as the Bunn carafe that we had before. - Interesting design that draws attention and makes everyone in your house want to have a cup. Hope this was helpful.

Finally, a generous carafe of fresh-brewed coffee...maybe the last maker you buy!
I happily sit here converted from my Bunn Speed Brew habit of more than 10 years. My spouse and I drink a full pot every morning, and we often found ourselves pouring another 500-600ml back through the resting grounds into a half-full carafe after we'd had a a cup or two at the breakfast table. We searched fruitlessly for a thermal carafe that would fit the Bunn saddle and hold 35-50% more coffee...didn't exist and we tried third-party carafes as well. This Moccamaster was highly rated and had solid/safe internals for brewing a large volume of coffee quickly. The full carafe is brewed before you're done making breakfast, and the flavor is great...the drip in the brew cup can be manually adjusted to allow your coffee to steep properly in the brew cup before it drips into the carafe. The brew cup supports the correct volume of coffee for your water level. The carafe is big, but I'm used to it after a month of use, and it doesn't drip from the lip like many others. One issue observed is that pouring into a cup invariably results in some drops popping out of the cup onto the table. That trade off was okay because at least the carafe design does not drip at the lip (a major annoyance from our old carafe). You easily get a full 1750-1800ml of water into a brewed pot when full, and if you want to back off a little to find the perfect amount, it's easily achieved (we settled ~1650ml daily for the two of us...happy coffee lovers)! Note: this maker draws a lot of current and should probably be used only on an electrical circuit on a 20A or higher circuit breaker. The plug and cord are robust/thick to handle the wattage required during the brew operation. The plug will not lay flat in any outlet.

Coffee snob’s review
First review I’ve ever written, but I really like coffee so I decided to do this. Have had the big Moccamaster for 14 months now. It works just as advertised. Makes a delicious cup of really hot coffee, quickly. * Not as quick as Bunn products, because it doesn’t preheat water. But it’s fresher than Bunn, and it still heats the water incredibly fast. * don’t worry about the reviews that say you can’t find filters, you can. The Bunn ones work great. * the carafe keeps the coffee hot enough to drink and enjoy for about 6 hours (plenty long enough for us). After that it tastes lukewarm. * at first I didn’t like all the pieces (7 or so), but now I do! The reason: easy cleaning. Any coffee maker is going to get dirty over time, and with the pieces that come apart, you can easily keep your baby looking brand new. The only tricky part to clean is the bottom of the carafe, but I don’t know how they would rectify that. * we brew less than the full amount (we made our own line just under the line). It ends up being enough for both me and my wife to have our cups of coffee each morning, with only having to brew once! * It is perfect for if you have guests. * we have been descaling according to the schedule. Have had zero problems with this thing. It looks and brews just like the first day we got it, with minimal cleaning effort. We love it, and I think it’s worth the money. Before this we burned through other cheap coffee makers every year. This thing is made of quality parts, you can tell when you use it. It has held up over time, I fully expect many more years out of it. Might as well pay more now and have years of better coffee :)

A deeply disappointing purchase.
I've owned an OXO for five years, and thanks to prime day, I thought I would consider an upgrade. The reviews for the Moccamaster made it sound like a revolutionary piece of hardware. Unfortunately, while the coffee it brews is on par with the OXO, the device is deeply disappointing in terms of form and quality, and offers zero justification for the vastly higher price. The components themselves feel like childrens' toys. The plastic components, which are nearly all of them outside the heating element, are light and thin, and they stack atop each other in a way that feels haphazard and "thrown together" like a bad chemistry set. The carafe handle feels like lego plastic, and the too-wide lip around the top makes the pour splash very chaotic. The water reservoir lid does not seat easily, and the conjoining metal bridge between the water reservoir and the filter gets in the way of removing the filter container from the device. When loading the filter container with coffee, you have two choices -- remove the conjoining bridge, which is a pain, or remove the filter container, which doesn't sit flat on a surface. This is ridiculous. At this point, a pour-over almost becomes a more convenient option. None of my interactions with this device suggest anyone thought about user experience.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
At first I bought the smaller Moccamaster but it only made 3.5 cups of coffee, not enough for us. I saw this larger one (60 oz. carafe) and decided to try it. OMG! Game changer! Makes plenty of coffee and it's delicious! The design is intriguing and unique, holds enough water and is so easy to use. Also the parts are easy to access and clean. This is the BEST coffee maker we've ever owned... the only thing left to know is the longevity which is something time will tell! It's very expensive but so far we are pleased with the product! HIGHLY RECOMMEND for excellent tasting coffee! BTW, we use Tim Horton's ground coffee and this makes a superior and truly enjoyable cup of coffee!

Love it...Other Than Leaking
Had it for about a month, and it leaks in at least 3 ways. First, and as many others have commented, the filter basket can clog (due to ground coffee being either too plentiful or ground too fine), so I've adjusted for that. (See photo showing how close the coffee in the filter rises toward the edge of the basket.) This remedy needs refining, more or less coffee to one's taste, so a user should monitor the flow until they get consistent results.) Secondly, this particular machine left a puddle of clean water around the thermal carafe base (see photo), so I removed the 4 screws on the bottom of the machine's base and could see remnants of dripping water inside the tower. Couldn't detect the exact problem but I did notice that the metal cover over the float was dislodged a bit. Reconnected that, ran clean water through it and no longer got a puddle around the carafe, but did notice a trickle of clean water on the base around the tower. That, apparently, is the third type of leak. I suspect something inside might be loose. Ugh. It makes great coffee, quickly and quietly but all of the above suggests Moccamaster's quality control might be lacking. None of this leakage occurred with my previous Moccamaster and when it worked it performed flawlessly. I would be interested in any comments the company can offer about my problems. I did call them, got no help and was told Amazon would only honor refunds for the first 30 days. (Today is Day 31 for me - meh.) Moccamaster's warranty is 5 years if I cannot find a fix, but I'm sure I will. For what I paid, I am profoundly disappointed.
