Very Best of

I was introduced to Chris Rea by a friend with "The Road to Hell" cassette (no cds back then)..probably around 1995..loved "Texas" and couldn't figure out why others hadn't discovered Mr. Rea. I forgot about that music over the years, but the other night while watching the intro to a new tv series, I could've sworn the song had Chris Rea singing. Afterwards, I watched the credits to no avail, went onto the Amazon site and did some searching around; ordered "Road to Hell" cd. When i received the cd, i listened to it intently and decided i needed more of his music. I ordered the Very Best of Chris Rea from Amazon...and I've had it about 2 weeks. I fall more in love with it the more I listen to it. Do yourself a favor and buy it for yourself. Heck, buy it for any of your relatives or friends who you owe a present to. This is music for the ages and you shouldn't pass it by. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to be able to recommend a superior cd or movie to someone. Enjoy!

This is an old but good CD. The CD arrived on time and in good shape. As expected.

This cd is worth the money

I first became acquainted with the music of Chris Rea while living in England during the mid-1980's. The voice reminded me of Bruce Springsteen but the songs were more mellow and jazzy. Like Dylan, Warren Zevon and even Springsteen himself, Rea's is not a beautiful voice but his range works perfectly for the songs he sings and especially the hits on this album. The voice has become more raspy over the years but these are still great songs sung by the only man who has the soul to really show them off. I'm surprised he hasn't picked up a bigger following in the U.S. over the years. For the long-time fan or the uninitiated, this album is a great place to start.

When I received my used cd, I was pleasantly surprised as it was in perfect condition. Then, I played it over, and over, and over again! I loved it. It had all my favorite songs, and by now, I think I know all the words to every song! Not to mention the fine slide guitar work and his course voice to accompany his instruments. Chris Rea is a force to be reckoned with.

If you like Chris Rea this album is a must have. I had a couple of his CDs back in the 90s. But recently got some mid to high end audio equipment. Got this record for my turntable. Wow. The pressing is top notch and the record sounds great. Only wish "Texas" was on this. I recommend this recording for vinyl lovers.

Chris nie robi wielkiej wrzawy wokół siebie, ale ma takie nagrania, które wszyscy znają i właśnie ta płyta ma je pięknie zebrane, kto lubi trochę rocka i bluza wymieszane w różnych proporcjach, ten będzie bardzo zadowolony, osobiście jestem zadowolony.

Now this is a totally amazing album! I bought one of his cassettes back in the early nineties and I don't know where it is anymore, but because I knew what Chris was like and his music was amazing I went ahead and bought this album and ya know what, I was not disappointed here. The music and the man, holy mackerel, I can almost totally get lost in the music. He is an excellent story teller and it comes in the music and ya know what, I was trying to think who he was like in the car tonight and I was thinking of Stevie Ray Vaughan, a different variation of music, of course they are different, but in their respective fields, they are just as good as each other! Obviously I enjoy Stevie Ray Vaughan! Excellent musicians, excellent entertainers! You won't be put off if you buy this album, every song is great!

Tolle Platte, sehr gute Pressung. Das Vinyl ist eben und klanglich einwandfrei. Zur Musik gibt es nicht viel zu sagen, einfach top.
