I'm technology challenged and have issues with everything I seem to touch, hardware or software. I was in a time crunch to get things done and I had to transfer from my PC version to a Mac version and was worried I wouldn't be able to catch on easily enough. I felt it was easier to find things on the Mac version than I did the PC version. I couldn't find a specific reports I wanted on the PC one but found it very easily on the Mac version. Everything I needed to do I seemed to be able to get it done. I was even able to transmit my end of year stuff to my accountant without her talking me through it. I'm optimistic that the rest of what I need to do will be just as easy. ### ⭐⭐ Good software, Intuit is a ripoff company in terms of upgrades *by C***N on February 1, 2017* I'm writing this review based on Intuit's business practices and less on the actual software. Most of us are familiar with the software. It is very good and I imagine if we did fancier accounting stuff I'd appreciate it even more. We could easily do everything by hand since our billing and compensation structure is simple and hasn't changed in 8 years.I purchased this version because after all these years I switched to a Mac... so I bought the Mac version of Quickbooks. That was in the middle of 2015. Now 18 months later Apple updates El Capitan to Sierra, which I neglected to study before simply upgrading and Quickbooks doesn't work. I thought, you have to be kidding me, within 18 months a brand new software package no longer works simply because of an OS update and I have to buy another version of year Quickbooks at full price?I have done my research on the new Quickbooks and there is no appreciable difference between 2015 and 2017. It's just naked greed to use an OS upgrade as an opportunity to force you to buy it again. So, my desktop iMac is the top of the line and can easily hold a 2nd partition with El Capitan on it. Last night I hit the button and loaded it overnight into it's own small partition. Easy peasy. I'll run the 2015 Quickbooks from it for as long as its convenient. ### ⭐⭐⭐ I'm giving the software an OK rating ( 3 stars) I think it has great potential and if I can just get it to ... *by B***P on February 28, 2015* Let me just start by saying I am new to Quickbooks and this is the first and only version of Quickbooks I have ever owned. I am a small business owner and I have had the software installed on my computer 2 weeks. I've taken one Quickbbooks class (which was taught on a PC) within the last week and a half...... and have one more scheduled next week. I'm not a computer/technology idiot! I bounce back and forth between PC's and Mac's daily. I'm a photographer/graphic designer who uses Photoshop daily in addition to data base software specifically designed to keep track of school portraits & orders. I understand how data bases work and can navigate complicated software.As of today (2-27-15) I can honestly say my experience with Quickbooks for Mac has been more frustrating than any other software I've ever dealt with. My primary issue with the software is it crashes constantly! I spend more time waiting and having to "force quit" the app than I do using the software. If interested......I'm working on OS X Yosemite 10.10.1. Everything on my computer including the Quickbooks is up to date on software updates.I'm giving the software an OK rating ( 3 stars) I think it has great potential and if I can just get it to quit crashing it will be one of the best business moves I've ever made. All software/apps have a learning curve and I know a lot of people say Quickbooks is one of the hardest programs they've ever learned. I disagree it's easy to understand how to use.........my problem is it is ALWAYS CRASHING. As of today......I'm thinking I should have bought a Quickbooks for PC version just because I've wasted more than 50% of my Quickbooks time "force quitting" and sending error reports.I'm the first one to admit I may change my mind....but as of today my recommendation is purchase, but with caution.
