Great spin feeder. Works good and with a 6 volt battery will last about three months or so depending on the spin times you set. The electric wire keeps coons and other animals from spinning the spin plate and losing all your feed. Three wing plates mount to the bottom of your feeder and the spinner just twist locks onto them.

This is a exact replacement for the feeder that didn't work this year when set out. Worked last year when set out by kids. This replacement didn't work out of the box with either lithium, NiCad, or 6v box battery. Frustrated I put red wire on negative poll, black on positive and it worked...both the older one and this replacement. Be ware the POLARITY of the system maybe screwed up on your set when you get it, just hook it up backwards. The feeder itself works well, does what it is suppose to. I find the NXT is harder to program than the other motors, as I have 2 other feeders that are made by this manufacturer but different series. I do not use all the feed time features, so if you only want 1 or 2 feed times a day save some money and go with another series in this brand.

The Moultrie MFG-13265 NXT Hunter Kit has been one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my feeder setup. The installation is straightforward, the instructions are clear, and everything fits tightly and feels well-built. Once installed, it runs smoothly and consistently without any issues. Purchased May 13, 2019. Installed on deer feeder May 24, 2019, and added a 6volt Solar charging panel to keep battery charged as well. A good solid feeder with backspin capability for when it senses a clog in the spinner plate/throat, which I have seen work. As well a large easy to read controller with ”lbs/feed remaining” & ”days to empty” feature, and a built-in electrified “Varmint Zapper” cage Most feeder manufacturers sell the zapper module separately (additional cost they can charge us), or you have to purchase a separate large non-electrified wire-welded box-cage (or circle cage) to install so critters can’t reach the spinner plate. I specifically got this feeder because it had the built-in electrified varmint cage. However, the varmint zapper feature failed somehow after being in place for only a month and killed the battery. There is no sign of exterior damage to the zapper cage, so whatever caused the failure is internal. I replaced the battery but zapper still didn’t work, and it now places a large continuous drain on the battery when zapper is switched on, that the solar panel & battery can’t keep up with now...leads me to believe there is an internal short or broken wire in the zapper wiring. I switched off the zapper feature after recharging the battery. I have PVC pipe sleeves on feeder legs so small critters, like raccoons, etc., can’t climb the legs anyway...I wanted the zapper feature mainly to help prevent birds from reaching the spinner plate. It is the only issue I’ve had since placing it in operation, and the only reason for the 3-star rating...so I still would recommend this unit, just be aware that the zapper may not last.

I was reluctant to buy it because the feeder came with one. I constantly had to change out batteries on the other one. This one has a 6v battery and I have hooked that up to solar. It is 100% charged all the time I like the fact I can take the control off and look at it standing up vs the old one that I had to get down on the ground and look up constantly. Combine that with the shock collar around the spreader and animals that aren't supposed to be there, don't come in!! Buy with confidence.

This feeder clogs constantly. Not sure if the hole is too small or the motor is not strong enough to turn. but either way, I have invested in 4 of these and can say they are not reliable. Do not buy !!!!!!

If you are using the feeders that take these kinds of motors, this is the only one to get. If not the raccoons will tear them up. This one gives them a little shock and keeps them off of it. All the other I have used the raccoons have damaged over time. This one is still going strong. Easy to use and looks like it will last. Time will tell but I am going on a year now without issues.

Real happy with but havent used itk not until fall.
