Review: No Ladder! No problem! - I absolutely hate going up and down on ladders. With that being said, this pole with the hooks saves me with putting up christmas lights on the house. Without the use of the pole my house looked like scrooge was a permanent resident with no lights year after year. Everyone around me would put up lights and my house was the sad unlit black hole. This year we are kicking the grinch out and no longer going to be the sad black hole. This pole extends to the highest reach possible for me to put lights up at the highest point of the roof. With NO LADDER! Getting the clips in the end was basically the hardest part and that was easy peasy. The clips fit on the wood part of the roof or clips on the gutter whichever you need to use. It was easy to clip the lights and push the clips on the eve. The pole is light and easy to use with a trigger to release the clip once you have it in place. Having the other head helped when I needed to pull a clip off or grab the sting of lights to separate them. I completely recommend this pole for those who like to stay grounded but need to put lights up for Christmas.
Review: It takes some learning but works great - I think this has been said earlier in reviews but just to emphasize - it seems to me you can only use this on a single story house, where you're hanging lights up at a height that's only a little too high to reach with a ladder (i.e. a few feet or so). The reason being that once you hang the first clip you need to be able to reach the next clip to place it in the pole clamp in order to hang that one, and so on. For that reason I found it was best to put on the first clip and then the last clip on a string of lights before starting to hang, and then adding all the other clips one by one only after the previous clip is in place so that I could be sure to reach to prepare for hanging. I also practiced on an easy-to-reach bit of gutter on our house before I tried it on higher places. Once I got the hang of it it was pretty easy and not a single clip broke. I think the bad reviews are people who needed to hang lights higher up than a single story or people who didn't practice enough and just gave up (because they are fiddly). If you're comfortable on a ladder for where you're working I'm sure that's easier. Otherwise this is definitely the way to go.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How were you able to get the next clip onto the pole when it was hanging 6 feet above your head?**
A: That’s impossible but this is what I do after I got the lights started. If I’m putting them on shingles I attach one to the pole. Then kind of pick up the lights using the end that slides under the shingle. The lights cord will slide down to the corner by the 2.6 in the picture. Then slide the clip on the shingle and keep going. If I’m doing gutters I slide the wire in by hand to the small clip. Then attach it to the pole and slide onto the gutter. Then I repeat the process to the next reachable area. You might have a sag in between but then I’ll just go back and add one. Instead of trying to clip them in the little hook I just attach a clip, then pull the wiring into the same corner you use when attaching it to shingles. It’s not the best but it makes reaching over bushes and the peaks of a two story house possible. I use regular clips where I can reach. Sorry if those instructions are hard to follow.

**Q: in the video it says it comes with the clamp extension as well, is that true?**
A: I must have the cheap model, the head don't come off at all and I didn't receive a clamp extension. I didn't watch the video so I wasn't aware of this feature and had I known I probably would have returned this one for the better one. That would have made things better but as is it works great and saved me some time putting up the lights.

**Q: Around here everyone has tile roofs. Does it clip onto those?**
A: We have a tile roof, but these clip onto the facia boards directly under the tiles.

**Q: How do you use this to take *down* the lights at the end of the season?**
A: Since I couldn’t figure out how to get the lights up, can’t help you. I thought it was a waste of $$

I think this has been said earlier in reviews but just to emphasize - it seems to me you can only use this on a single story house, where you're hanging lights up at a height that's only a little too high to reach with a ladder (i.e. a few feet or so). The reason being that once you hang the first clip you need to be able to reach the next clip to place it in the pole clamp in order to hang that one, and so on. ### ⭐ Doesn’t function properly
*by R***A on December 1, 2020*

The pole won’t stay extended when trying to insert clips under shingles. I had to use duct tape to keep each section from collapsing. It pulled down what I had already clipped up. Also, when fully extended, the pole is too flimsy to put enough pressure to insert clip under shingle at high points. I had to readjust the two sections shorter and rewrap with duct tape to get it to work. The release mechanism worked fine for me. It also worked fine for the gutters. My house is one story so the gutters were easy to reach. The way you have to pre-clip the light strands for gutter placement would make it difficult to attach to high gutters. I don’t think it’s possible to grab a clip with the pole attachment. I had to use my hand to attach the clip to the pole each time, and then attach the clip + light strand to the gutter or shingle. I was able to make do with this product by using duct tape and rewrapping twice during installation of lights. Also note: In vids I watched of other people using this product I noticed theirs came in nice packaging. Mine was loose in a box with a handful or two of loose clips tossed in. Maybe mine was returned by someone else or refurbished?
