Paasche TG-3F Proffesonal Double Action Gravity Feed Airbrush Kit

I use this airbrush for painting miniatures (Warmachine, Warhammer, etc) and larger scale model kits. I'd never used an airbrush before, so I did a lot of research before buying anything. This model has the three things that were most important to me -- dual action, internal mix, gravity feed. I also like that it comes with three needles and tips. When painting minis, I use the smallest needle. When applying gloss varnish or basecoating larger models, the next size up works great. I haven't tried the biggest needle yet, though it would probably be good for painting terrain/dioramas. The airbrush is very easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning. This was a big plus for me, as I was very intimidated at the prospect of having to take this thing apart and put it back together again. The instruction manual doesn't help much, but there are some good tutorials for this airbrush on YouTube. Just be careful with the needle! It is incredibly delicate. The only issue I've had is that the trigger sometimes sticks a bit when you press it down. I read of this problem in other reviews, and some even suggest how to file down a couple pieces to fix the problem. I haven't attempted this yet, but I might. However, the sticking trigger isn't really a big deal at all. Hasn't affected my painting, as far as I can tell. One thing to note -- the hose that comes with this airbrush didn't fit with the regulator on my air compressor (and the hose that came with the air compressor didn't fit with the airbrush). I just brought the hose and regulator to a hardware store and they found the right adapter. I guess whether you have this problem will depend on what compressor you get, but in the end it was only a $2 problem. In the end, this is a great airbrush. It feels very durable and it will be a LONG time before my skills exceed the capabilities of the airbrush. If you're looking for a quality airbrush that will work the way you want and last a long time, but don't want to pay the high prices for an Iwata, this is the way to go!

So when you need to let's say replace a needle you have to keep in mind that you cannot just replace it. You have to make sure the needle you are replacing is the right size for the tip and airhead you are using. Keep that in mind before replacing anything. The parts are not marked, so the only way to tell from one another is the size, and the size difference for the needles and air holes for each tip are minuscule. I recommend keeping each part labeled properly. I have ruined airbrushes by mixing parts. Additional comments: I have read other posts of people having issues and called Paasche's customer support with a very positive outcome. The majority I've heard they got a new replacement. In my case, I don't run into any issues for several years before I have to replace the airheads, tip and needle. In reality I am my wife's repair guy my wife uses airbrushes on a daily basis for decorating cakes. So believe me, I forget how all those tiny parts go together after a couple of years of not touching an airbrush, so I make sure I label everything. Tips: - Buy a cleaning kit and cleaning liquid at a reputable airbrush dealer. It's essential to preserve your airbrush in top shape. Clean your airbrush after each use with the cleaning liquid. Cleaning tools such as brushes and pokers can be used for tough spots to clean or clogged orifices. - I repeat, label your spare parts. - Use of a dedicated airbrush brush for a specific setting is a time saver, that way you don't have to switch parts when you need to switch from wide stroke to detail; all you need is switch airbrushes. - Get quick release valve connectors to quickly switch the air hose to other airbrushes.

I bought a Paasche since I remember the one I had when I was a youth and used to build models. And then I started reading the reviews. Poor build quality, cruddy action (I usually go for the bad reviews first on Amazon), and I started to get worried. Shouldn't have. As can been seen from the pic, I got mine, with all parts, no build issues, no quality issues. Nice heft, good weight, and if the 'Paasche TALON' logotype etched into the side is a little 1950's Mike Brady-looking, we'll just forgive that. When I pulled it out of the box, the action *did* feel a little ratched, even compared it to the chinesium one that came with the tankless battery compressor from spraygunner that I got for touch-up work. Ugh. Now I'm afraid I wasted my money. I shouldn't have been. Once this thing was attached (and here we have my ONLY complain with this device, why does Paasche have to have a different word for EVERYTHING?! *huff* At least they sell a bevy of 1/8th adapters directly, and I was prepared) and pressurized, the action was smooth and subtle. I've shot everything from ink to acrylics to primer to metallics through this and it's gorgeous. Fit and finish is awesome, and if I had to come up with a complaint, whatever this orange durakote that they put on the cup cap and tail-end is, it can make the cap hard to get out sometimes. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful machine, and I'd post a video if I hadn't put ink in it with the PSI on my compressor still set to 'acrylic primer' and made a mess. Seriously, this was WELL worth the money. Easily the equal of a brush twice its price. Taking off a star because Paasche fittings are all unique and that's kind of a pain in the arse.

I LOVE this airbrush. It's awesome. It's my first ever airbrush, but it's great. I love all the accessories it comes with, it allows me to paint models very well. It comes with the various needles and nozzles and nozzle caps to do just about anything you need to do, as well as things you probably don't need, but it's nice to have, such as the fan aircap. The air hose is nice, it got me airbrushing almost out of the box. Just remember, if you're using one of those dozens of cheap compressors on Amazon, you're going to need an adapter. Paasche uses it's own 1/4 size hose, whereas most compressors are 1/8 I went down to my local hardware store, and got one in less than 5 minutes, and it only cost me $2, so no big deal. Mine came with the number 2 needle very bent, I contacted paasche, and they are amazing, and shipped me a brand new one immediately. I would buy from paasche indefinitely.

This is the second Talon TG I've purchased. The first one had a problem bubbling in the cup when the optional (read separately purchased) .20 assembly was installed. Paasche support took care of the problem by immediately sending out replacement parts by Fed-Ex. I got this as a back up and to get all the needles and fan cap in one package. I have read reviews here about people not being able to tell the difference between the various caps, needles & tips. All Paasche airbrushed utilize the same method to indicate size. Size "3" has three grooves on the aircap, tip (where the wrench fits to tighten/loosen) and on the back end of the needle. Size "2" has two grooves, Size "1" has one, and size "0" (not included in this kit, but available as an assembly sold separately) has no grooves. By the way the size "0" assembly works great for hairline detail and is the detail assembly that comes in the box with the Talon Vision TGX. I have sprayed alcohol based temporary tattoo color, reduced Createx Wicked color and illustration ink through both of my Talon TG's with great results. I can get hairline detail with the .20 and the fan spray attachment is good for the 3 inches that is claimed when shot at a reasonable distance from the working surface. Cleaning illustration ink & the Wicked acrylic was easy and quick. The temporary tattoo paint was another thing all together. But that was a function of the paint, not the airbrush (a mistake I won't repeat). This not an airbrush I would recommend to anyone just starting out. But I would recommend it to anyone that has some experience with airbrushes. Plus it's American made. Meaning that by buying a Paasche you are supporting American workers. Mind you this is the very same company that manufactures the parts for Mike Learn's Mojo III airbrushes. In all I'm happy with my purchase and the support I got from Paasche.

Without much to compare it to short of a cheap plastic external mix Testors, I can only give my impressions. This is the first top feed, high quality airbrush I've owned. I bought it for my wife in addition to the Master tank Compressor for Christmas and we have both used it quite a bit since getting it. I haven't used all the combinations, but I don't seem to need to. For painting 1/24 scale models it has been very even, very smooth painting. It's easier to operate than I thought it would be. It feels very well made, is easy to take apart and (mostly) to clean. Cons: I haven't found any cons yet, other than there's a couple spots that can be a bit tricky to clean if you leave paint in it. I also haven't been able to find the best techniques yet for fine lines vs. wide sprays, but I know it's possible.

This was my first airbrush purchase and I decided to buy an airbrush that was capable of doing anything and learn as I went. I have now used this airbrush on and off for 6 months and, although it is a good airbrush, there are some definite drawbacks. The airbrush feels solid in the hand, has a generous cup and good features for the beginner and advanced levels. The brush can be time consuming to clean, however read my comments on paint below. Make sure to remove the aircap and tip, then take the needle out the front instead of pulling dried paint back into the mechanism of the brush. Be careful with the needles, you can either stab your fingers or drop them and easily bend the tip. The airbrush arrived with a bent needle, not slightly warped, bent. Paasche customer service gladly sent me a new one at no charge and it arrived quickly. Next, blow-back (air back through the cup) all the time. Talked with customer service again and were very pleasant and told me to make sure the tip and aircap were tight, keep in mind we're dealing with very small parts and threads. The medium and large needles, tips and caps all worked fine, but the fine setup was issue after issue. Paasche sent another fine needle, tip and cap that was tested before sending. Now, the airbrush is back at Paasche as the medium tip broke off in the airbrush (broke in middle of the threads). I know Paasche will make it right, but something just seems off here. Not to put all the blame on Paasche, I'm a novice and learning as I go. I have found you MUST KNOW HOW TO THIN YOUR PAINT! Don't expect to buy an airbrush and some paint and have the paint flow exceptionally well through the airbrush. Paint is not paint and all the product lines out there are different. Acrylic, enamel, lacquer, candy, etc, etc, and you can't layer acrylic over/under enamel or enamel under/over lacquer, etc, etc, unless you know exactly what to do. Understand what each type of paint is, what its used for and if/how you can layer them. Trust me, I have a collection of paint due to not learning before leaping. Watch YouTube videos, there are numerous videos on paint types, how to thin them, how to get your correct air pressure for the paint viscosity and how/if you can layer them. In the end I'm finding my general mixing ratio, depending on paint type, is somewhere between 2 and 3 parts paint to one part reducer. This makes a very thin paint, but problems have been greatly reduced. Correctly flowing paint also greatly reduces cleaning time. While I'm waiting for my Paasche airbrush to come back I bought another to see how another brand works. The one I bought is another brand and doesn't have all the accessories this one came with, but I am getting better results. Again, some likely due to changing brands, but much do to my knowledge, experience and understand paint. Overall I think this is a great value for the money, Paasche customer service has been nothing but helpful and prompt and I think for learning this is a great way to go, just wish I wasn't having to use Paasche customer service so much.

I’ve owned a Paasche Talon for 10 years now, and have fought with it from day one, just to get it to spray unmixed water out of the cup without it bubbling. And that’s with any combination of brand new needles and tips. There is, and has always been, though I didn’t know it until checking under a magnifying glass, a hair line crack between the cup and the body.. I’ve used, and still use other Paasche airbrushes, and they’re great. This has been a huge disappointment since the day I bought it.. Workmanship with Talons seems to be hit and miss… and I got a lemon that I should have sent back the day it came. Update … 7/2026 Trying to force the wrong paint through an airbrush guarantees that the brush will never work as it’s supposed to.. The airbrush I received had some quality issues… bent needles, crack at bowl, etc. and I should have sent it back when I received it. But, having replaced the body, gotten new needles, and starting to use the right paint, I can honestly say that the Paasche Talon is a fantastic airbrush.. when it’s used as it’s supposed to be, with quality paint. Don’t stand for second rate quality if the airbrush is sent broken, or the quality of workmanship is questionable. But, when dialed in, the Talon is a great airbrush!

Niveau qualité l'aerographe en lui même est top, mais ça on s'en doutait. Il est très confortable même pour les petites mains, les matériaux respirent la qualité, etc. En revanche, souci concernant celui que j'ai reçu. J'ai fais un premier essai directement après ouverture sans réussir à projeter de la peinture. Après démontage et vérification, en fait la buse installée par défaut etait "fendillée" (voit photo) et l'aiguille était tordue sur sa pointe. Heureusement que tout est remplaçable avec cette marque (donc pas besoin de faire un renvoi complet), mais je vais quand même faire une réclamation.

I have a Paasche H airbrush that is 40+ years old and still going strong. The Paasche Tallon quality seems cheap in comparison. It is almost impossible to get a small amount of air from the trigger. It's all or nothing. The trigger also keeps jumping up out of it's proper location and gets stuck. The trigger is to close to the colour cup and it's difficult to get a finger on the trigger without hitting the cup. The build quality of the whole airbrush feels cheap and the trigger is loose and feels like it binds when pulled back. I also can't believe that Paasche have packaged the spare nozzles and tips in the same bags which could lead to damage of these delicate parts to say nothing of the needles one of which had lost the "protective" piece of sponge material in transit. Not what I expect from this company.
