Keeps on top of stray animal hairs
Verdict. It’s great for keeping on top of an already clean house. I use mine to keep on top of cat hair. This is best suited to hardwood floors and the odd shallow rug. It doesn’t like dark surfaces or deep pile carpets. It’s round so misses corners, but does reach under the small gap in the skirting board to flick out any debris. It’s brilliant at getting to hard to reach places like under your bed or sofa. Do not use if you have wires or paper strewn all over the floor as it will get tangled. Set him off when you go to work or sleep and return to a cleaner home. You’ll still need to hoover.. But less often. It runs for about 1.5 to 2 hours before it gets tired and starts looking for the charging station. After each run you’ll need to empty the small dust tank (If he’s full, he’ll just keep trundling along depositing dust). He’s a brilliant gadget (I call mine Hoovie), and I’m already saving up for another one to live upstairs. I chose this robot because of the reasonable price and positive feedback. It also doesn’t have a roller in the middle which I noted some robotic vacuum owners found untangling long hairs frustrating. Tip: If he does stop working, remove the roller ball underneath (Its snaps into position) and clean out any debris that may be obscuring the Sensor. There are more advanced and expensive robots out there, but this one does enough for my needs and expectations. Since owning Hoovie I’ve noticed a lot less dust balls rolling about. Hope you find this review useful and you find your new domestic hero soon.

Great little hoover... Until it stopped working altogether
Great little unit when it worked for first few months, you wouldn’t have known I owned a large dog as my floor was so clean. The hoover now is completely useless. It charges fine and has been properly maintained. I had to get a new dust collector box as the catch snapped on the original one to which iLife sent out for free once they had confirmed my purchase. Once this was over it was back to the cleaning until the hoover just kept stopping a week or two later. Now the hoover just beeps and refuses to move. I found the iLife user manual and website pretty unhelpful as they could not advise on how to rectify the fault either other than suggesting I clean the hoover which I already did regularly as well as replacing the filter brushes etc every month. A real shame as this was a great little item initially but I would not recommend it after it breaking so quickly.

Surprisingly good at the simple stuff, struggles a bit with real life
Bought this on a bit of a whim, "yeah, let's give one a try". Other reviews were pretty good, so worth a try. My verdict: - it's pretty good at the basics, pleasantly surprised me. Hard floors, low-pile carpets, it will pick up a decent amount of dust and fluff. - pet hair, it just can't handle, doesn't pick up much of it at all... then again, neither does my Dyson vac with its "pet hair turbo brush" so that's no sleight on this little beastie! - battery life isn't great, I reckon about 90 minutes working time in reality before it trundles back home for a rest - it is prone to sucking up any small cable, bag strap, etc on the floor and getting stuck; it does however stop and switch off when it realises it's stuck which is good - being low to the ground, it doesn't handle floor level changes (e.g. wood to higher carpet) terribly well and may get stuck between rooms - don't let it loose in a large area (e.g. the whole floor of the house), it will probably get lost somewhere and probably run out of battery before it gets home! I let it loose in one or two rooms at a time and close the door or put a plank across to limit its travels - the dust tank is ridiculously small, clearly meant for cleaning very clean floors! It's full after about 30 mins here and the robot doesn't detect that and stop, so it then spends the rest of its time dropping dust in little piles as it goes around. Conclusion - it's a great idea, works pretty well in very tame situations, but doesn't cope with the real world quite so well. A version with a few tweaks like a larger dust tank, better brushes to dislodge hair & fluff and stop when full, could be really good.

Ilife V3s. Very happy with this vacuum.
Was not expecting too much from this robot vacuum and brought because i like the idea and because of good reviews. Have been surprised by the product as it has done a great job and cost a lot less than some of the top end cleaners. I have hard wood floor and works great on that. Not sure it would work as well on carpet. Vacuum is well made and very well thought out. The rotating brushes on the front sides pull all the dirt away from the edges and brush it under the vacuum to be sucked up. Will take a lot longer to cover the whole floor than pushing a vacuum around because it is random but it will find the dirt in the end. Not a problem it takes longer to clean as battery lasts a long time. It can take a while to find its way back to base but it will get there in the end. Worked well on the timer so could be trusted to start cleaning in the night. Noise not a problem as is not loud for a vacuum. This will not replace your main vacuum but you will use it a lot less.

Honest Review
I bought this hoover as it was on sale and I thought it would be a great time saver for me as I have pets and have to hoover daily to keep on top of the hair. Over all I am impressed on how much this little hoover picks up and how long it can run for. However, it is noisy, I would say it’s as loud as a hairdryer, I have tried to put it on as I go to bed on a night but had to turn it off as it crashes into chairs and it is constantly banging on my coffee table which you will see in the video (sorry for the poor video) that keeps us awake so we have to set it off when we are not in the house. I haven’t figured out how to set a timer yet as the instructions are minimal so I will find a YouTube video for that. Oh and lastly, it falls down stairs. I have used it twice up stairs now and 3 times it has fallen sideways down a stair and is just stuck. I won’t use it upstairs now unless I am home or the battery will be wasted when it falls down the stair.

I've been using the robot vacuum for two weeks and I'm amazed by it! I have long black hair that sheds a lot. Throughout my life, I've had to constantly vacuum and pick my hair off the floor by hand. I had considered a robot vacuum before but expected I'd have to regularly cut hair off the brush like I have to do with my regular vacuum. I recently went in search of a robot vacuum that sucked hair off the floor without having it get tangled in a brush and the iLife was my first choice. I thought because it was a budget-friendly vacuum that it wouldn't be this good, but I was wrong. What you get for the price is incredible! My floors has never been this bare; totally free of hair, dust, and crumbs! It catches everything! Even goes under my furniture, which I'm super lazy at cleaning. There are some cons, but I still give it 5 stars for its unexpected capability given the price. #1 Pro: It vacuums hard floors perfectly without your having to lift a finger. No more hair, dust, crumbs! Minor Cons: - The sensor could be improved. Remote is not sensitive. I.e. You have to be fairly close and pointing at the vacuum with the remote. Often have to press it a few times before the command is registered. -Also, presumably, a sensor problem: The vacuum struggles to "return home" when you press that button on the remote. Even if it registers the command, it'll wander aimlessly...even if it's right beside the dock to return home. I called iLife customer service about this and they said that there has to be at least 6 feet of free space in front of the dock. If you live in Toronto, in a 450 sq ft apartment, that's a difficult ask. The robot has to have a clear view of the dock because the sensor is not smart. I was told that it also won't find the home dock if there's a dark coloured rug in the way. I have a white and grey rug near the dock (2 feet away). CS said my rug shouldn't be a problem, but it is. I did a test by removing the rug and it was able to find home more often (although, still not always). This con is a very small one imo, so I just have to physically move the robot back to its dock when it's done. No biggie! -Hair does get caught in the sweepers and it'll stop and go into error mode when this happens. This is also a super small con because all you have to do is turn it over and pull them out of the sweepers, then restart it. Compared to using scissors to cut through a mountain of rolled up hair in a traditional vacuum, this is a miracle! -It does climb on my rugs (and this impressed me because I wasn't expecting it to), but it's not great on them. I knew this going in because the vacuum suction is not as powerful as you'd find on more expensive robot vacuums made for carpeted floors/rugs (I compared). I bought it specifically for hair on my hardwood, so if that's your purpose too, this does the perfectly! The pros trump all the cons. I 💯highly recommend this for anyone with long hair that sheds a lot!

I have had my robot friend, Simon, for a week. First impressions upon opening the box was an “Oooo Aahhh”. The directions said to let your new robot friend charge overnight before first use, but of course, I ran him around immediately to just see how he works! He worked for about ten minutes. I couldn’t figure out how to get him to his home (charging station), but it turns out, he can find his own way home just fine. I recommend that you do take a few minutes to read the directions and familiarize yourself with the remote. It took about 4 hours or so for Simon to fully charge, then I turned him loose. Let me just say, I thought my floors were clean, or, at least, pretty clean. As it turns out, they were not. They were not clean at all. Simon has picked up so much fur, dirt, dust, it’s unbelievable. My floors have literally never looked better! They are CLEAN. For real clean. I’ve always had a hard time cleaning under the bed, but now I don’t have to worry about it at all, because my robot friend takes care of it. I have all hardwood floors and tile. I also have a few throw rugs, some thick, some thin. Simon does a perfect job on the floors, and has no problems navigating over the throw rugs (though he might turn up a corner, but he will run back over it and still get it clean). I don’t think your robot friend would work very well if you have a lot of or mostly carpet. If you have hardwood or mostly hardwood, you will love your new robot friend. Simon mostly gets from room to room okay – the “up” entry points he cannot do on his own. For example, he cannot get over the hump into my kitchen, but he can get down the hump. He also cannot get over the hump to get in the bathrooms. This is actually fine for me, because I prefer to control when he goes into the kitchen anyway so that I can shake off the rugs and/or pick up the cat food and water bowls and any shoes or other things that might be on the floor. I just put a bar stool in his way to keep him from exiting the kitchen when it’s time for him to clean in the kitchen. Simon will clean for about 3 or 3.5 hours. He does not have a “plan” so to speak, not like a person would say go from corner to the center of the room, but he is still very thorough, and obviously, his plan is way better than mine since my floors are so much cleaner than they ever were when I was in charge. My advice is to just trust the process and let your robot friend find his way around on his own! Just make sure that you pick up any cords, especially small cords like phone charging cords, and shoe laces or the like, so that he doesn’t accidentally grab onto something he shouldn’t. Simon also has sensors so that when he comes to a piece of furniture or a wall, he will slow down so as to gently bump it before he turns off into a new direction. I have also noticed that if he comes into contact with a chair or table leg, he will often go in a circle all the way around the leg to clean around it. Once your robot friend is done doing your dirty work for you, he will go back home on his own. If your robot friend cannot find his way home, you may not have provided him enough space. Is that any way to treat your new best friend?? Make sure that he has several feet of clear space in front of his charging station, and that there are a few feet of clear space on the sides of the charging station as well. Also, make sure to empty out his dust bin after every use. One of the fortunate side effects of having my new robot friend, is the “give a mouse a cookie” effect it seems to have had. Give a person a clean floor, and the person may say oh, it looks so clean in here, let me pick up this shirt and put it away. The person then notices that the bathroom trash can is full; since the floors look so nice, the bathroom should be clean, too *cleans bathroom*, and so on. The only thing about my new robot friend, which isn’t enough to bother me at all, is that he is, well, he’s not super loud, but he’s not very quiet either. So, if you are watching tv, you may need to turn it up just a bit if you are running your robot friend while you’re at home. Well worth it for the service he provides, though. Overall, I do recommend this little robot. I am very pleased with this purchase. If you’re in the market for a robot floor cleaning wizard, don’t hesitate to click that Buy Now button.
