I bought this trash can on July 4th 2019. It looks great in the kitchen. For the most part it was great opening when I had my hands full. I love the convenience of it. On occasion it would get a little finicky especially if batteries were running low. As far as the trash bags go I go up to the next size I can find. I think right now I’m using 30 gallon bags in it. But with the ring that holds the bag in place you never see the bag until can is open. It’s more economical for us. The real reason I’m writing this is I want anyone considering this trash can to know that Nine Stars stands behind their product. Over the last couple months the lid just about stopped working. I emailed Nine Stars and that very same day they emailed me back. They told me to turn off power remove batteries and let sit 24 hours. That would reset it. I tried that 2 different times. To no avail it didn’t work. I emailed them again and explained I had reset it and it still wasn’t working. Again they emailed me back the same day. They asked for some info and proof of purchase. I sent that to them and within a week or so they sent me a new lid. I love a company who will stand behind their product. I will definitely buy from them again and I definitely recommend them.

The can worked great for about 4 months or so then started going out of time meaning the lid would either not go up all the way or shut to quick to where if you were tossing food paper plates the lid would come down on the plate making a mess before you could get it into the can Then now at 5-6 months it’s doing what’s in the video not opening all the way and instantly closing Now at 2 weeks beyond that it stopped opening all together, I’m guessing they used cheap plastic gearing that wore out, granted we’re foster parents with a lot of kids the trash can gets used quite a bit but when doing QC on a project before production all that should be taken into account, and usually they time it just after the warranty runs out so in this case 2 years, I would of been ok with getting 2 years but 6 months is unacceptable and little to no response from support is also unacceptable so if this could get negative stars it would. It has a 2 year warranty but does no good if the company doesn’t respond or take care of its customers! It’s been 16 days since they said 4-5 days for a rep to contact us So at this point we’re just going to cut our losses. hopefully this review will help those looking to buy an automatic can to stay away from this brand And actually we contacted them at the initial onset of problems so in all actuality it’s been about 3 months we’ve been dealing with a TRASH trash can , I’ve had company’s replace a product on the first call within a day or 2 having a replacement without even having to send back the bad one, that’s how it’s supposed to work but this company doesn’t care - but They will! video evidence don’t lie

Update: After a short spell, they sent me an entirely new lid and the can is working exactly as expected. I'd but it again in a heartbeat. Changing rating from 1 to 5 stars. Buy this if you want an automatic (sensor) garbage can. The garbage can is exactly what I wanted. After 2 months of use in my kitchen, the lid would make a loud snapping noise as it closed and opened. Several days later, it stopped opening and closing all together. I emailed ninestars and got a reply back within a few weeks instructing me to do a reset on the unit. Despite already having done so, I did it again. No difference. The gears are stripped out. I emailed them again December 18th (exactly 1 month ago) and haven't heard a peep from them since. The garbage can is useless without a functioning lid. It's basically a stainless steel bucket at this point. I would have given this 5 stars had they been more responsive and taken care of me. The can is a great idea... obviously not very well built.

This type of garbage can works out well for my household the one that I currently had will not be able to hold that much. I would always have to pull the bag out midweek and keep it on the side because it was not as big as the one I just purchased, there’s plenty of room you could fill it up. There’s holes at the bottom Rim that you put on top. I wish it had a better locking mechanism for the bag. I can’t tell you that much on the battery life because I just got it. It’s really easy to open. and very easy to remove the garbage out of it the mechanics open up very well. I put my hand over it, and it automatically closes. The plastic does not seem as durable as I but I’m sure it’ll last a long time. The garbage can is pretty it’s made of thin But Strong enough

Perfect size for our kitchen. Fit & finish is perfect - love the staninless steel finish. Really great quality for the price. We have had it in use for about 3 years now. We did have an issue with the lid - we called Ninestars & they immediately sent out a new lid under warranty - We have had no ssues since. We absolutely love the automatic lid. We definetly recommend Ninestars Deluxe Auto Lid Trash Can (This is our 2nd one - the last one worked perfectly, but we damaged it during a move).

This is an amazing garbage can. Not too sensitive but works when you want it to. Has a very large capacity (large black garbage bag) and keeps the smells in the can. Easy to use and change bags. Had it for about a month and it works great so far.

After less than 4 months of use, the lid can no longer be opened. Replacing the battery didn’t work, and contacted product support, but no response.

Grosseur parfaite !!! **mise à jour** Après presque 6 mois ons commence à avoir des problèmes avec le couvercle :( je l’adorais … je n’est pas encore trouver le moyen de communiquer avec eu pour savoir quoi fair pour régler ce problème!!!
