Did you get a csb branded battery? the description says "by csb" but when i ordered, i got an email from lake battery saying they sell "sigmastek"

Looks like the battery I need but there are differences in the numbers on the battery. The one I have says GP 1272 F2 12V 28W. Is this one right?

There are two different products from CSB that are both called "GP1272."  One battery "battery A" has the capacity listed below the model as "12V 7.2Ah" while the other "battery B" has it listed as "12V 28W."  Battery A has a 7.2 amp-hour rating which translates to 7.2 amps total delivered over a 20 hour period (7.2A/20hr = 360mA/hr) meaning this battery can supply a constant current of 360mA for 20 hours straight).   battery B with 28 watt rating is per cell (6 cells in a 12V battery) for 15 minutes (power/V=A, so 28w/12V  = 2.33A/cell * 6 cells = 14A for 15 min, meaning this battery can supply a total of 14A for 15 minutes straight).  The units aren't truly relate-able as the discharge curves are not linear.  You need to de-rate the capacity based on rated run time.You really need to look at the discharge curve on the manufacturer spec sheet - A 7Ah battery over 15 minutes is more like a 3.5 or 4Ah battery.  The spec sheet for the Power-Sonic PS-1270 identifies the Ah rating at 20hr, 10hr, 5hr, 1hr and 15 minutes.   A good way to gauge or compare how much power a battery can store is by its weight (more lead>more power>heavier product).  Of course, the manufacturer doesn't have a spec sheet for battery B, so we can't really tell how much it weighs.  According to the spec sheet for battery A, the GP1272 is an 8Ah battery.  When I reached out to CSB, they told me the 28w battery is equivalent to a 7Ah.  I would guess CSB has offered a lower quality option to UPS manufacturers to cut their cost.
