Great Supplement
I've been using the VetriScience Lysine Powder for Cats and so far my cat loves it! It’s easy to mix into her food, and she loves the taste. As soon as I sprinkle it on her food, she's chowing down. It's easy to add into her daily routine and has helped with her immunity health. I love the high-quality ingredients as well. Overall, I highly recommend!

Great support for my cat’s daily wellness
I’m really happy with the VetriScience Lysine Powder for Cats. It’s easy to mix into my cat’s food, and she doesn’t seem to mind the chicken & cheese flavor at all—which is a big win. I like how simple it is to add into our daily routine, especially for supporting overall wellness. The powder blends well and doesn’t leave a mess, and the container is easy to use. After using it, I feel more confident that I’m supporting my cat’s everyday health in a simple, stress-free way. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this product and would definitely recommend it to other cat owners looking for an easy supplement to add to their routine.

Lysine Price Comparison
Executive summary: This product is twice as expensive as the 6.35 oz Enisyl-F Lysine product for equal doses. I compared the 6.35 oz Enisyl-F Lysine with this product, Vetri-Lysine Plus, 120 chews, 5.29 oz. At the time I bought both, the Enisyl-F Lysine product cost $12.00 and the 120 chews cost $16.81 (free shipping on both). The only way to effectively compare prices is cost per dose. This required counting the number of chews in the Enisyl-F Lysine product: there were ~430 chews in the 6.35 oz package. Since the dosage is 5 chews for 250mg of Lysine, it works out to 86 doses, or 14 cents per dose. With this product containing 120 chews, the dosage is 2 chews for 250mg of Lysine, so 60 doses. That works out to 28 cents per dose - twice as expensive! Having said that, I still like having both products around, but I mainly use the Enisyl-F Lysine since it is half the price. If my cat is having a bad day with his eye weeping, it's easy to also give him a couple of the "120 chews" to boost his dosage. My vet said that 250mg is actually too low for weepy eye problems related to herpes, and recommended at least 500mg per day. He said there was a study that 1000mg per day works even better for eye problems related to herpes, but I feel like that's a bit excessive. So I put a handful of these chews - 5 to 10 - in Yuri's food and maybe boost it with a couple of the other chews as necessary. I only rated this product with 4 stars because I'm not sure how much Lysine is actually helping with weepy eye. It's one of those problems where there are good days and bad days, so it's hard to tell how much it helps. But it seems to be a little better with Lysine, so I keep my cat on it. Update 9/27/2013: My cat Yuri was never diagnosed with herpes via an eye swab test, because they have to put them under and stick a swab under their eye. Instead, the vet tried several different eye ointments with antibiotics and none really worked great, so the conclusion was that he had herpes. He did better on the ointments or gentomycin eyedrops than without them. When the last bottle of eyedrops ran out, my vet said I could also try human eye drops. Even without Lysine, Yuri does just as well or better on human Allergy Relief eye drops, one in the morning and one at night, as he did on antibiotics. A different vet did mention that it could be a blocked or deformed tear duct that made his eyes water, so who knows? But the human eye drops are working great to control his tearing. I also switched from Iams cat food to "Before Grain". I always had to coax Yuri to eat the Iams, but now that he is on BG, he eats great and is much healthier overall. The price for BG on Amazon is about the same as Iams in the grocery store: $2/lb or so. Highly recommended.

My cat loved it!
I’ve been using the VetriScience Lysine Powder for my cat for a few weeks now, and I’m really happy with the results. My cat used to have occasional sneezing and watery eyes, especially during seasonal changes, and this supplement has made a noticeable difference. What I love most is how easy it is to use, just mix it into food and it blends in well. The chicken and cheese flavor must be appealing because my cat eats it without hesitation (which is a big win since he can be picky). I’ve noticed his overall comfort has improved, with less nasal congestion and fewer allergy-like symptoms. It also gives me peace of mind knowing I’m supporting his immune health in a simple, stress-free way. Definitely recommend this for any cat owner dealing with mild respiratory or allergy issues. It’s been a great addition to our routine!

Supports Immunity & Reduces Sneezing – Cats Love It 🐱
I’ve been giving my cat this Lysine powder for a few weeks, and it’s been great! She actually enjoys the chicken and cheese flavor, which makes it really easy to give her the supplement daily. I’ve noticed her sneezing less and her eyes and nose seem clearer, which is such a relief. The powder mixes well with her food, and the capsules are convenient for travel or when needed. It feels high-quality and safe, and the 60-count supply lasts a good while, making it worth the price. Overall, it’s a simple, effective way to support my cat’s immunity and help with allergy symptoms, and I’d definitely recommend it to other cat owners.

helping with my kitten's eye herpes
I have five cats and at least three of them have eye herpes. One of them is a 10.5-month-old rescued kitten I got last month. I am fairly certain he had eye herpes before I brought him home, but at any rate, there is a bit of kitty stress in my household right now as he integrates himself, so one of my other eye herpes cats may have been shedding the virus and infected him. Thankfully, he does not have ulcers, but he has clear eye discharge and sometimes sneezes. So I asked my vet about lysine options. Please note: this has chicken-based flavoring in it so it will not work for cats with chicken allergies and/or inflammatory bowel disease. (If you have a cat like that, your best bet is buying lysine tablets for humans and crushing them, then suspending them in liquid, drawing up in a syringe, and administering that way. Human lysine tablets are a bit too big for a cat to swallow.) If your cat is able to have most treats and such, these chews are a far better (as in, more pleasant for the cat and easier to administer) option. Anyway, the herpes virus requires a lot of the amino acid arginine (which has a long carbon side chain and a positively-charged nitrogen-containing group on the end) for replication. Giving lysine (which also has a long carbon side chain and a different positively-charged nitrogen-containing group on the end) in large amounts means lysine is taken up more by the cell machinery producing viral proteins. Only, when lysine is incorporated into viral proteins in place of arginine, the proteins don't fold properly and don't function as well (or at all). (This is true for human herpesviruses as well, so if you tend to get cold sores, take lysine tablets. It is an amino acid that you would need anyway. Just follow dosing instructions on the bottle.) So, in order to get my kitten's eye herpes under control before he starts scratching at his eyes or something, I am giving him this. He's been on it for a few days and it seems to be helping. He has less eye discharge and I haven't heard the sneezing for awhile. He's also not scratching at his eyes. He's still skittish so I just throw a treat or two on the floor in the morning before feeding him. I do this when he's hungry so I know he will eat these. He likes them and doesn't have much trouble chewing/eating them. (They're what I would call "semi-moist." They don't have a strong smell.) These are not causing my kitten any digestive upsets, which of course I'm very happy about. The bag is resealable to preserve freshness. If your cat is walking around with one eye closed or you see the third eyelid covering a large portion of the eye, there is probably an ulcer. You will need to take your cat to the vet and get a fluorescein stain and some antibiotic drops or ointment. This product will not cure ulcers. (I've seen the extremes of cat eyes damaged by eye herpes and you do not want to go there. It is expensive and requires many trips to the veterinary ophthalmologist.) Ulcers must be treated quickly and appropriately. But if your cat just has some discharge and sneezing and you have reason to believe s/he has eye herpes, these treats can help. Anyway, I'm very happy that these are working. Nice to know I can get them from Amazon if my cats have issues in the future.

She won’t eat them but they still work
“Will satisfy even the pickiest eaters” turned out not to be true lol. My cat won’t even sniff them. I’m giving it 3 stars because they do work, but it takes a lot of time to get her to take them. Since my cat won’t eat them whole, I’ve tried to pulverize them into a powder and mix it in with some of those puréed cat treats. It takes a while to form a powder since the treats are soft and pliable instead of hard and crumbly. And the pliability makes it difficult to blend up in the blender too. Once I finally manage to get it incorporated enough into the purée though she WILL eat it, but any solid chunks still left over she won’t touch. And since she’s been eating it, I’ve noticed the lysine kicking in and clearing up her watery eyes and sneezing. To make it easier on us next time, I’ll buy the powdered lysine and mix that into purées instead.

My cats love these
I have had my cats on these for years now, I’ve lost count of the amount of packages that I’ve purchased. This is the only brand that I will buy because it’s the only brand that my cats will eat. I have to cut them in thirds for my cats or they are too tough to chew and they won’t touch them. I cut the tail off and then the main part in half, perfect size for them. Once I do that they get excited for their treats. I got one of my cats when she was 10 weeks old and noticed that she was sick right away. The vet explained that she had a cold caused by the feline herpes virus. She’s twelve now and if she doesn’t get the chews then she’ll have a cold within days. A couple of years later, I adopted a two and a half year old male cat that also has feline herpes. Without these chews his eyes get junky and he gets the cold symptoms just as quickly. They both know when it’s treat time and will sit in front of the counter and meow until I look at the clock. I recommend these to anyone that has a cat with feline herpes. If your cats won’t eat them, try cutting them in half, it might help; did with mine.

too dry
Disappointing to order cat food from Amazon US. Last time all the cat food got stopped by customs. Some went thru yet the food inside the cans became all watery and poor quality. I thought these health supplements would work better. However, the tablets inside became very dry and hard. Difficult to get my cat to eat them. Yet I paid a high price for the item. Disappointed!
