Neiko 10070A Torx Bit Socket and E-Torx Star Socket Set | 35-Piece Set, S2 and Cr-V Steel, 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2-Inch Drive

I needed a complete Torx bit set and I have purchased several Neiko tools lately. Has all the sizes I need and they come in an organized plastic case for easy storage. They are a good quality tool at a reasonable price IMO.

This is the 2nd socket set I've purchase from Neiko (the first being their Hex socket set), so I knew what to expect. This set is a fantastic value. It comes with a complete set of Torx, both internal and external, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2, and many of the internal torx bits have the security hole that gives them much greater application. They range from E4-E18 and T8-T55. In terms of construction, they are nicely made, particularly considering the cost. The entire socket portions are made of chrome steel, and the internal Torx bits are made from what looks like carbon steel. They are size very accurately and fit well into Torx screws and nuts. I didn't try them on any Torx nuts. The plastic case is padded, and is a nice way to keep your sockets from getting lost. There have been some comments about the fragility of these sockets; they do not seem particularly fragile in use, although I was not applying high amounts of torque on smaller bits that may cause problems. They aren't designed for air-gun use, so I don't think I'd use them for that purpose. My summary is that if you work on Torx screws, bolts and nuts all day, you might consider getting a Snap-On set, but this set is 1/10th the price and more than adequate for the weekend mechanic. I don't think most people will be disappointed.

Got this for a brake pad and rotor replacement on my BMW X5 since I didn't have any that fit ratchets and knew I would need them for this and I will always need them for other work (regretted not having them before). I looked at reviews of several sets, wanted a complete set of standard and metric, and chose this one. It even came with the external Torx and I thought, "theres some tools I'll never use". HA, today when replacing the rotors, I needed the largest size external torx in this kit to remove the caliper slides. Thank goodness I had it or my project would have come to a screeching hault. Pun intended. Lets face it, I don't use them for a living so I didn't want to spend a fortune. On the other hand I do always like to buy high quality and it kills me to get cheap crap. I'd rather buy used quality than new junk. I was pleasantly surprised. Honestly if you didn't know it was Chinese, you wouldn't know it was Chinese. I think pros could make a living with these. They don't have the feel and slop of the junk. They are well marked with large clear size markings, the chrome is bright, shiny and smooth. Even the storage box is descent. Perhaps not 100% quality but certainly good enough and better than most. I couldn't be happier and used them today for the brake job.

There are more and more mechanical devices that are using Torx connectors in the manufacturing process and most shade-tree mechanics don't have the necessary tools to be able to work on them. Torx screws are designed to be driven with high speed drivers and not slip like would happen if you used a Phillips head screw. I have used these Torx wrenches on my Harley using a torque wrench and have had no problems. They do have a tendency to stay on the screw when you torque the screw, but that is pretty normal with devices like this. The set does include just about every torx size that is made. The external female socket set that comes with it is nice as well. The vanadium finish is very bright and will remain that way for a long time. The size numbers on the sockets are engraved not lasered so are hard to read in low light. Otherwise this is a great bargain. I have purchased many Neiko products. They all are contained in nice cases so that you can keep track of and store your products. I am very pleased with Neiko's offerings and quality.

Seems to be of better quality,after a week had to cancel order and reorder,God know why,in total it was almost two weeks and a reorder to get these sockets,good luck!!

I am a believer in "you buy what you get" but I also believe in "great value". I was looking around for an external female socket set and a torx bit socket set and came across this Neiko tool set which had both. I read the positive reviews and gave it a shot. I couldn't find myself spending 2-4 times more for this type of socket set so I was hoping Neiko set would do the job and it did. Carrying case? It is plain blue carrying case that snaps tightly shut, labels the sizes in the case and holds the sockets perfectly in place. I suggest people to keep the foam insert in as it holds the sockets tighter in place. Instead of using the cardboard cover or using blank blue case, I just printed a Neiko label sticker covered with tape and stuck it on in the blank space. Sockets? These are really nice looking sockets that get the job done for me as they are strong and durable. I also like how they are labelled on the socket which is easy to read. Another poster said that the bits are easily replaceable after they wear out or break. If so, I think that is great. I would prefer to buy a cheap bit than replace a perfectly good socket...... Lastly, I actually had 2 t-20 torx socket and was missing t-27 torx socket. I emailed etoolscity (seller) and they immediately sent me a replacement t-27 torx socket. That my friend is what I call excellent customer service. Great tool set for a bargain price with fast shipping and solid customer service.

I was amazed at how well these sockets hold up used these on my electric 3/8 ratchet and the bits haven't chipped or broken off. Even stubborn fasteners are not a problem they bite and remove them with ease no rounding or stripping the fasteners. Used on rotor screws, seat belt bolts, air box when replacing air filters ect. Well worth the money! Not made in the USA but eh they work so I'm happy.
